This demonstrates once again, that even though we make chance and randomness work in our models to a impressive extent, we can't really explain the nature of the concept/phenomenon we are utilizing. Compare to Babilonians and their astronomical records: could predict eclipses but couldn't explain their nature

      • So, basically, when we say that IQ is distributed normally, we take it for granted and can't answer "why"? We can't explain mechanism that gives this distribution its shape. This demonstrates once again that in questions of chance and randomness we know and understand very little.
