Neighbourhood management aims to tackle quality of life ("liveability") issues in communities through:
· Better management of the local environment;
· Increasing community safety;
· Improving housing stock;
· Working with young people; and
· Encouraging employment opportunities.
Many Neighbourhood Management Pathfinders are working with Warden schemes as a proven way of addressing many of these issues. The key to neighbourhood management is that residents concerns should be more important in defining what is done than agencies' assumptions.
