This is a great website to find video for use in the classroom. This site is actually a site that has accumulated many educational video resource websites for your use. They have categorized the web sites by content, so teachers can quickly find what they are looking for. Some of the websites they link to include (mentioning a few):
George Lucas Foundation Educational Videos, Dialogue for Kids – Public Television (archived videos), Nova Online, and Science – Harcourt free Videos and Discovery Animal Planet Videos. As far as the copyright issue on this site, teachers and students would have to research the copyright topic on each of the websites that this main site (Free Video Clips for the Classroom) links to as a resource. For example, the Animal Planet Video site is managed by Discovery, so they have their copyright policy right on their site. It states the standard, that the content can be used for educational purposes, and that the user agrees to maintain the original intent of the content.

The music from this site is available free for download by educators and students that are looking for high quality music, sound effects and stingers to use in projects and lessons. The clips must be used for non-profit projects only. They do ask that students and teachers cite the Royalty Free Music site in the references of their projects. I have used this web site often because it allows the students to have music in their projects without the teachers worrying about the appropriateness of the music and lyrics that the students often want to bring in.

This site has some great free audio and video files. There are some resources that can be purchased for a fee, but there are enough free educational files available that I consider this a great resource. Once again these resources can be used by educators for bona fide educational projects or lessons without concern of infringing on copyrights.

Pics4Learning is a copyright-friendly image library for teachers and students. The Pics4Learning collection consists of thousands of images that have been donated by students, teachers, and amateur photographers. Unlike many Internet sites, permission has been granted for teachers and students to use all of the images donated to the Pics4Learning collection.

This site has some free videos that can be used by students and educators in an educational environment. Because it is TeacherTube and NOT YouTube, the topics are primarily classroom based. Students and teachers can actually post their own video projects on this site to share. They caution individuals posting video projects to make sure that their video does not contain copyrighted material, and they often pull videos off their site that have inappropriate or copyrighted content. A nice place to take students to share and view projects by other students.
