This article highlights the problems that faces many African citizens, specifically the dwellers in Kenya, where UK researchers are designing transmitters that collect data from the pumps and their efficiency condition. This data is sent back to Oxford University where they can interpret the pumps condition and send a mechanic to fix the breaking pumps. The citizens' lives depend on these pumps so it is critical they remain in good condition. With the developing technology, the researchers will be able to predict a malfunction before it happens which will improve the lives of the struggling Africans.
