I like the way it keeps the code close to the HTTP protocol - the method to handle a GET request is called ... you guessed it ... GET().
Unlike earlier efforts such as appengine-patch, djangoappengine uses django-norel such that Django apps written to run on App Engine should be easily portable to non-GAE environments which use NoSQL databases (eg MongoDB).
