• MOOCs were originally intended to provide for engagement and collaboration. The first MOOC made use of participatory-engagement tools:: a wiki, a learning management system, blogs, Twitter, and videoconferencing. And originally, the MOOC was based on:

   
   
  1. Aggregate, in which students engage with lectures from experts, daily content links provided through a course newsletter, and reading content on the Web.
   
  2. Remix, with students being encouraged to communicate with peers about content and what they are learning, through blogs, discussion boards, or online chat.

• Most instructional designers are adept at learning new technologies and creating multimedia learning objects.
• It’s common for designers to have at least some experience with Flash, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and similar programs. Many also become proficient in e-learning software such as Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia, and others.

  To stay on the top of their fields, instructional designers dedicate a significant amount of time to reading – whether they are browsing through technology magazines, checking out education / e-learning blogs, or studying the latest research in scholarly journals. Not only do they read, but they work to actively use the teaching strategies, pedagogical methods, and technology tricks they learn in their everyday design work.

• What is an Instructional Designer?
• In a nutshell, instructional designers create educational programs for schools and companies.
• They regularly meet with clients or subject matter experts to determine how to best present information to students. They may also edit content for clarity, write instructions for assignments, and design or create learning interactives. Additionally, they may be involved (or even run) the creative side of the equation, producing videos, making podcasts, and working with photography. Designers can expect to spend their days creating storyboards, reviewing content, and asking a lot of questions.
• organizations are looking for employees with at least a bachelor's degree (often a master's degree), strong editing skills, and the ability to work well with people. Project management experience is also highly desirable.
• Many employers are more concerned with candidate's technical abilities. A resume that lists competency in programs like Adobe Flash, Captivate, Storyline, Dreamweaver, Camtasia, and similar programs is highly desirable.
• However, they do prefer that designers have worked to create educational programs before.

• Use the ADDIE instructional design process to make sure that learners have a good instructional experience that does not happen in a haphazard way. This is a planned process so that the students who use your project will achieve the goals of your instruction. They will be able to do this better because you make effective plans and decisions in each of the 5 ADDIE phases: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation.
