•  Dependency Walker is a free utility that scans any 32-bit or 64-bit Windows module  (exe, dll, ocx, sys, etc.) and builds a hierarchical tree diagram of all dependent  modules. For each module found, it lists all the functions that are exported by  that module, and which of those functions are actually being called by other modules.  Another view displays the minimum set of required files, along with detailed information  about each file including a full path to the file, base address, version numbers,  machine type, debug information, and more.
   
   Dependency Walker is also very useful for troubleshooting system errors related  to loading and executing modules. Dependency Walker detects many common application  problems such as missing modules, invalid modules, import/export mismatches, circular  dependency errors, mismatched machine types of modules, and module initialization  failures.
   
   Dependency Walker runs on Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000, XP, 2003, and Vista. It  can process any 32-bit or 64-bit Windows module, including ones designed for Windows  CE. It can be run as graphical application or as a console application. Dependency  Walker handles all types of module dependencies, including implicit, explicit (dynamic  / runtime), forwarded, delay-loaded, and injected. A detailed help is included.

   

  Dependency Walker is completely free to use. However, you may not  profit from the distribution of it, nor may you bundle it with another product.

• CloneSpy can help you free up hard drive space by detecting and removing duplicate files. Duplicate files have exactly the same contents regardless of their name, date, time and location. Also, CloneSpy is able to find files that are not exactly identical, but have the same file name. Perhaps you have different versions of a file and you want to find all of them and remove the older versions. CloneSpy can also find zero length files. These are files that have no content.

• Sizer is a freeware utility that allows you to resize any window to an exact,   predefined size. This is extremely useful when designing web pages, as it   allows you to see how the page will look when viewed at a smaller size. The   utility is also handy when compiling screen-shots for documentation, using   Sizer allows you to easily maintain the same window size across screen grabs.

• Hot Key Plus is a small freeware utility that allows you to launch  applications using the 'Windows' keys (the ones with the Windows icon on them)  on your keyboard.

• A Brief History of Windows Key

   

  I believe that the 'Windows' key is the most useful key on the keyboard.  I've not always thought this way, indeed, when the Windows 95 keyboard was  first launched I thought the extra keys Microsoft introduced were little more  than a nuisance. However, one day when I was playing around I discovered that  pressing the 'Windows' key in combination with other keys can be used to launch  applications. Most frequent Windows users are aware of these shortcuts but they  aren't well published (see the this   MS  Knowledge Base article under the heading Microsoft Natural Keyboard Keys   for the complete set). The  combination Win+E to launch Windows Explorer is just so useful that I simple  can't use a keyboard without a 'Windows' key.

     

  It's always frustrated me that Microsoft never built in the ability to  define your own shortcut keys. I wanted to have all my favourite applications  at my fingertips. To satisfy this desire I wrote Hot Key Plus.

• And There's More

     

  Hot Key Plus is bundled with a couple of extra programs, sstart.exe  and wsize.exe.
• Running sstart.exe starts the current screensaver. By default Hot  Key Plus is configured to run this program when Ctrl+Win+Space is pressed. If  you set you screensaver to be password protected, then to lock your workstation  you simply press Ctrl+Win+Space. If you need more sophisticated ways to start a  screen saver you might like to check at another program I've written called Saver Starter.

• wsize.exe is a program that resizes the active window to dimensions  given to the program as parameters. By default Hot Key Plus is configured to  use: Ctrl+Win+6 to resize a window to 640×480; Ctrl+Win+8 to resize a  window to 800×600; and Ctrl+Win+1 to resize a window to 1024×768.  If you need different sizes these can be configured in the Configuration Dialog. Alternatively, if you need more  sophisticated sizing control, take a look at   Sizer.

  • Allows a screen saver to be started by moving the mouse over a corner of  the screen.
    
  • Prevents a screen saver from starting when the mouse is in a corner of a  screen.
    
  • Starts the current screen saver quickly.
    
  • Gives easy access to the screen saver configuration settings.

• Install

    

  Saver Starter has no automatic install process. The zip archive contains two files,   SaverStarter.exe and Readme.txt. To start the program simply run  SaverStarter.exe. You might like to add Saver Starter to your start-up  group, that way Saver Starter will be available every time you start  Windows.

• Path portability: Requires manual entry of drive-less absolute path (eg. \docs\personal\work.doc without the drive letter)
• I generally use this instead of my SnagIt because it uses way less resources and is much quicker.
  Only problem I've found with it so far is that the scrolling web page option can come out reeeeeeaaaaallllyyy badly.
  If there is a way to stop getting white lines across the prints I'd uninstall SnagIt today [2007-07-08 00:14]
• I had the same problem with scrolling window capture; I changed 'Scroll Refresh Time' to 100 ms in Settings and now it works like a charm

• ZipInstaller utility installs and uninstalls applications and utilities that do not provide an internal installation program. It automatically extracts all files from the Zip file, copies them to the destination folder you select, creates shortcuts in the start menu and in your desktop, and adds an uninstall module to allow you to automatically  remove the software in the future.
