The compiler does a great job of summarizes what each site offers under each link (he even lists whether the site has grammatical errors in the summary. Included in the list of links are biographies of some of the major figures in Ancient Roman history, information about Roman art, and aspects of Roman life.

    This gateway on Ancient Rome lists links about the history of Rome, emperors, kings, famous women, daily life, the arts, wars, and timelines of early Roman history. Marilyn Abramowitz, a librarian, at Mineola High School, created this list. A few of the sites listed are student-created thinkquests, therefore students should cross-reference to check accuracy. Many of the sites were created by universities and contain a wealth of valuable information.

Along with a list of comprehensive sites, she lists timelines, glossaries, maps, the history of Rome, Roman law and economy, war, the emperors, women, daily life, family values, medicine, education, philosophy, food and farming, engineering, technology, and fine arts. This site is geared toward High School students and teachers.

This gateway spans many interesting topics such as religion, gender and sexuality, and modern perspectives on Ancient Rome. It also lists important historical events and aspects of Roman life and culture. Many of the empires are broken down into their own sections because of the amount of links under each.
