Your best bet is to do what I did. Just go to You Tube and ask. The One thing that stood out for me, is that I heard the ZTE has better wireless reception.

The Huawei _might_ have a better Wifi antenna, which could be important if you plan to use it at home or at a place with open wifi. The Huawei also has an FM radio. Otherwise they're identical. The Huawei may or may not have a better Wifi antenna, but there are reports that the ZTE gets poor reception from a few people who bought it -- enough to notice. Similarly the LG Android Tracfone has very little storage space and the Samsung has a clock bug that could get you fired. As you mention, it's the ZTE or the Huawei. Respond with which one you get. I'm getting one for my mom.

  • I've stated this SEVERAL times thought the thread.......If you don't believe me, try it...

    ONCE AGAIN . . . .

If you transfer or put minutes on an ANDROID, then you decide you dont want it, your MINUTES ***WILL NOT***

transfer back to another non-smartphone. ONLY the phone number and service end date will transfer back. YOU LOSE MINUTES going from Android to Non-Android.

IF you transfer from one Android to another Android, everything transfers OK.

Hi! I downloaded a Jar file from umnet. After I unzipped it, I only see a MF file as my main file and no jar extensions. My phone has question marks on all the files in that app. Thanks for your help.

    • LG 840G Java AppsHi Ben: You do not need to unzip a .jar file to install the app. Just copy the .jar file to a new folder that you have created on your SD card. Then use your phone's file manager to click on the App name to install.

  • I have some very good info from Keriga over at the HSN forum. She spoke directly with someone at the Executive
Resolutions Department at Tracfone. Many thanks to her for her hard work.

    1. ALL existing minutes and airtime will transfer and convert from your current phone to the new Galaxy, with NO LOSS whatsoever. If a CSR doesn't understand that or refuses do it, ask for a supervisor. My ERD Rep said it was a mistake to deduct or omit minutes or make a customer choose between existing totals and the new 600 minute bonus when going from the existing phone to the new one. If you've lost time/minutes, ask for the ERD. Totals can be restored because the balances are in your file.

    2. Whether you have 40, 400 or 4,000 minutes in your account, the transfer-conversion can be done online through prompts that will walk you through the process. It's a misconception that large balances of airtime and minutes can't be done online and must be handled by CSRs. If there's a problem, you can always call for help. There's no fear of losing any or all of your balance; it can be restored by TracFone from your existing records.

    3. This ERD Rep said that in this new Galaxy Centura rollout, TracFone expected some problems to arise. TracFone's goal is to resolve complaints quickly and fairly, but that can be accomplished ONLY if you contact them directly. TracFone is aware that some people prefer to complain and post their gripes all across the Internet, rather than giving the company a chance to make it right. She said nothing's ever going to change with these malcontents because they're just chronic complainers. TracFone is urging customers to make them aware of problems they've encountered in the porting, transfer, conversion process. To do so, either complete the online form, engage in the online chat (available on the same website page as the complaint form) or call ERD directly at 800-876-5753. She told me to urge anyone who experienced difficulties to contact TracFone and they'll try to rectify the problem(s).

    send an email to TF.CorpResolutionTeam@tracfone.com

They are the Exec Resolutions Dept and they usually have everything cleared up in less than a day.

Don't delay or agonize over what to say. Just copy and paste your whole article that you just posted and send it off to them.

Do it now. It doesn't have to be hard. You just have to know whom to contact. Good luck.

PS, I frequently get unsolicited emails from them in response to posts I have made in HoFo. And their emails are full of info, not just canned phrases. They really do care.

-Transfer landline phone # to Tracfone 840 LG
    - Port home phone number to Tracfone (Did paperwork at Tracfone site 3/21/13); they will send me a new Sim Card; Phone details  - 3/21/13 (7620.34 minutes, 903 service days, 9/10/15)
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A ticket for your Port-in and SIM Card Exchange has been created. Your ticket number is 1067046897. Please write this number down or simply print this page for your records.

Please do not contact your old service provider to cancel the service for the phone number you are porting. This will be done automatically as part of your Port-In request.

The transfer process is in progress and should take a few hours to complete. In some cases, it could take as long as 2 business days. It may take longer for landline phone numbers. During this time, your current phone will still work.

When you receive your replacement SIM Card and your old phone stops working, go to our website www.tracfone.com and click the Activation/Reactivation option to complete the number port. You can also call our Customer Care Center at 1-800-867-7183 to complete your port.

Please note: If the information you provided to us is inaccurate or the information you provided does not match the account information in your old service provider's account records, we will be unable to complete your request.

  • I transferred 2400 minutes from LG 501c to ZTE Z665c using the regular TracFone number (800-867-7183). They only gave me 2400 minutes -- no texts and no data. I called back 2x and politely explained the problem and they insisted they could not do it; that they were instructed minutes can only become minutes. I called the Miami number, 800-876-5753, and they gave me the 2400 texts and 2400mb data in less than a minute. Not surprising, but still frustrating.

NOTE! if you transferred all of your minutes over from another Tracfone TO the Android.......and later, you decide you DO NOT LIKE the Android, you can transfer your number back to your old phone and your service end date back ***BUT*** you will lose any minutes you transferred........

Okay, so I activated my S738C via the Tracfone website. You need the Activation Code/Airtime Pin printed towards the top right side of the invoice that comes with your order.

After activation, you can go to the Tracfone website to check your balance. You will see:

    Minutes: 600.0 Minutes
    Text Messages: 600 Text Messages
Data (MB): 600.0 Mb of Web Browsing
    Service End Date 12/24/2013

If there's a way to do it on the phone, I have not figured out how, but when you request the balance via the website, the information gets send to your phone in a message that you can see.

The following link works to check your balance from phone (I used WiFi) or PC (you need the last 4 digits of the phone's IMEI #):
    https://www.tracfone.com/direct/CheckBalance?input_phone=<your 10-digit number>

    IMPORTANT:
    Before you activate your phone, you may want to disable cell network data usage by doing the following;
click the menu button (bottom left side) -> Data usage (under WIRELESS & NETWORKS) -> slide the Mobile data switch to OFF.
Somehow I used up 22.87KB, so my data balance is now 599.98Mb ^_^ .

Activation was no problem. Just be sure to follow the enclosed directions. I can make and receive calls, but did not actually complete any calls to test voice quality. I have not yet sent or received any text messages nor have I tried browsing using the cell network.

The protective shield is nice. AC charger with detachable USB cable is nice.
There's a lot to learn with this phone. I've been using WiFi to check out may Gmail and Yahoo mail. I like it a lot so far.

The larger screen compared to my S390G and LG840G is a big plus, and now I can lock this darn phone with a pin code without going through all the manual one time nonsense of my other Tracfones.

It is very cool that you can rotate the phone and the apps automatically rotate to follow the direction in which you're holding the phone :) .

Lemme know if you have any question.

    @Tech,
The phone came with installed with Chrome and the built-in bro
