Great Library blog site
I met Royan a few years back when we worked together on an action research project around digital storytelling and student motivation to write for the triboard project. His passion for 21st century learning is contagious. He is always an inspiration to me.
I'm hoping this will be a way to stay connected with teachers in our superintendency this year and beyond and a tool to begin conversation. Click on comment at the bottom a post to leave a comment.
Our attempt at a school blog. It was a great learning experience and a fun way to share our work with parents and students and give them the chance to respond.
We had two student blogmasters who used it as an extension activity to their class work.
We definitely learned a lot
Sample Wikis
A wiki dedicated to age appropriate non fiction books for elementary students who have been created by individuals (including students) world wide.
The first wiki I ever participated in was this former email project for early elementary students, counting our lost teeth and sharing the information with classes from around the world.
Suggested Tools
Edublogs.org is a great blogging tool for educators. The editing tools are simple, but yet complex enough to allow you to include a variety of media. There is a free version avaialble. Great tool to use with students since you can create student accounts as well as moderate comments
A great wiki tool to use with students since you have several different options. You can get a free upgrade as an K-12 educator.
Planning on working collaboratively online this year? Before you start it is important to discuss our digital footprint and digital etiquette (or netiquette). Brain Pop is always a fun way to introduce the topic and start the conversation
