The House of Commons Justice Committee is calling for new legislation to help families when someone goes missing.
Mr Cameron said it was an "important issue" and added: "I pay tribute to Peter Lawrence and his support for this campaign [with the charity] Missing People.”

The Missing People charity described the present system for declaring missing relatives dead as ‘convoluted’.
A new presumption of death law for England and Wales won support from the Ministry of Justice last month. A bill is expected to be launched in the autumn.
