    • "Internet privacy" Definition:
      Internet privacy consists of privacy over the media of the Internet: the ability to control what information one reveals about oneself over the Internet, and to control who can access that information. Many people use the term to mean universal Internet privacy: every user of the Internet possessing Internet privacy.
      Internet privacy forms a subset of computer privacy. Experts in the field of Internet privacy have a consensus that Internet privacy does not really exist. Privacy advocates believe that it should exist.

        Internet Privacy is the ability of individuals to control the flow of information and have reasonable access to data generated during a browsing session.  Privacy is a major concern for all Internet users, but it is becoming more difficult to expect a reasonable expectation of privacy online. One of the problems with Internet privacy is that many users assume that they have control over their information. This is often not the case, particularly when they engage in activities such as online social networking, which is essentially based upon sharing of personal information

        Annonymous person on a computerA term often used to describe an individual's anonymity and how safe they feel in a location. When referring to privacy on the Internet, this commonly refers to what information is shared with the visiting site, how that information is used, who that information is shared with, or if that information is used to track users when on the website. Answers to these questions are commonly found on the company or website privacy policy page.
