The Ikea website and store provides a massive amount of examples of how a vast range of everyday products which have been produced to meet specific wants and needs. The fact that the majority of their furniture is picked up or delivered as a 'flat-pack' is a technological wonder in itself. This site can be used in a Tech Ed classroom by providing students and teachers with great design ideas and challenges!
This is a fantastic resource which can be used by students and teachers. With YouTube being such a huge international phenomenon, children have direct knowledge of it which makes it ideal as a teaching tool. With research and classroom projects, it is fantastic for finding clips which engage the attention of students straight away.\nScore: 5/5
Origin has provided a site which is very useful for teachers and parents. Although it does have some very good energy lesson plans, it is not suitable for lower primary grades as a research tool. Unlike other energy company websites I've seen, this one does not have any interactive games or kid friendly sections.\nScore: 3.5/5
This is a free site for students and teachers. It provides a vast array of activities, support materials, links and lesson plans covering all KLA's. The only downside is that the site is designed for Canadian curriculums - however, each activity and resource can be modified to suit any international curriculum.\nScore: 3.5/5
This British site is focused on making the world a greener place. It is an initiative of the UK's largest energy company - British Gas - whereby they have observed that in oder to preserve the planet for future generations, a joint effort must be made by everybody. With the site, British Gas have made it possible for schools to link their green ideas and in turn win prizes. There are plenty of green activities and lesson plans available on this site.\nScore: 3.5/5

This site provides thousands of pictures which are copyright-friendly. They have been donated by teachers, students and amateur photographers. This is a great student friendly website which would be ideal as a research tool in the classroom.\nScore: 3/5
This is a professional site which is obvious by the layout and vast amount of resources and supporting materials for all KLA's. I like how it has a Parents section which provides them with fun activities and ideas to keep their children academically stimulated. This site also organises real educational trips for teachers and students to numerous international destinations. Itineraries and pricing are online which clearly explains what each 'learning adventure' will cover.\nScore: 4/5

Great site for resources and printables. It has a great selection of themes and topics. One down side to this site is that in order to enjoy full access to the online resources, you have to join up and pay for membership.\nScore: 3/5
