• Chaos across Fife as two weeks' rain falls in one night

• Buildings were flooded, roads closed and a wheelchair-bound man evacuated from his home yesterday after torrential rainfall in Fife.
• Freuchie, near Glenrothes, and Cupar, in Angus, were among the areas most badly affected by the downpour, in which half an average month's rain fell in one night.
• Forecasters reported 31mm of rain at RAF Leuchars, compared with 13mm in Edinburgh and the Borders.
• Fife Fire and Rescue, which received 68 weather-related calls overnight, distributed sandbags yesterday to prevent further damage in a joint operation with Fife Council.
• Catherine O'Connell, who lives in Fife, said that her daughter's house was flooded while she was away on honeymoon.
• The garden was under water and the firefighters have been pumping it all out. I've no idea what my daughter will say, it's a terrible thing to come home to.”
• Ross Robertson, 28, from Freuchie Mill, estimated that about 20 properties had been flooded locally.
• "The water is up to some residents' letter boxes," he said. "One of my neighbours who had been away overnight was in tears after she found her house flooded.
• "Everyone who parked their car in the car park in front of the flats has had it written off by the flood waters."
• Robert Balfour, a farmer from Freuchie, said he feared for the health of his crops amid the downpours.
• Mr Balfour told BBC Radio Scotland: "It's crazy. We should be on a combine, not a digger trying to dig out drains. The crops are still standing but this rain is not doing them any good."
• Further north, in the Tayside area, police closed off footpaths close to the Barry Burn in Carnoustie, which was in danger of bursting its banks.
• However, it was too late to remedy the damage caused by the nearby Ashludie Burn, which flooded Monifieth Links in Carnoustie and interrupted play during the British girls' open amateur golf championship. Competitors could play only 16 holes.
• Environmental groups gave warning yesterday that flooding is likely to become worse in the future.
• "Statistics show we are having longer rain events, which can build up more water in rivers, more days of rain, and more rainfall, so the risk of flooding has increased," Richard Dixon, director of WWF Scotland said.
• "We have also built on flood plains and not been very clever in the way we have moved rivers."
• Dr Dixon praised the Scottish government's plans for new flooding legislation, but pointed out that the laws would achieve limited change unless ministers get tougher on the climate change that is driving the warmer, wetter summers.
• "There is a lot more to do," he said. "The SNP have a climate change bill coming up and if they deliver what they promised on reducing greenhouse gases Scotland will be a world leader.
• But of course the Nationalists are also expanding airports, and building new roads and road bridges. Their proposals mean they won't meet their own targets."

• Quirky Weather Patterns Behind Region's Lightning Overload
• Experts: Unseasonably cold air from the north is key to dramatic increase

• Meteorologists blame an unusual weather pattern for the increase in the frequency and potency of the neighborhood-shaking thunder-and-lightning storms the region has experienced over the last couple of months.
• There have been 7,579 lightning strokes in New London County in 2008 through Monday, according to Vaisala, an international lightning data services provider.
• A stroke is a series of electrical discharges comprising a single lightning discharge.
• A flash of lightning may contain one or a few tens of strokes.
• That's almost 6,000 strokes over last year's total, when 1,600 lightning strokes occurred during the same time period.
• A storm might contain dozens or hundreds of lightning strokes. In 2006, the company recorded 7,411 strokes and 3,486 in 2005 over the same time period.
• This year, an upper-level pool of cold air has made its way down from Canada and the Arctic and settled over the region, helping to create the storms.
• ”It's a very, very unusual pattern for this time of year,” said Patrick Maloit, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Upton, N.Y. “It's unusual that it lasted this long.”
• The pool of cold air has pushed the jet stream down near the Mason-Dixon Line.
• Typically, at this time of year, the jet stream flows along the Canadian border.
• ”In the wintertime, that's fine,” said Gary Lessor, assistant director of the weather center at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury. “But during the summertime, warm air at the surface rises up and transfers into instability like showers and thunderstorms.”
• No total protection
• Technicians at Mercury Computer in Quaker Hill have seen an increase in computer problems consistent with lightning strikes and power surges, said Diana McNichol, the shop's owner.
• Problems with computer power sources, network cards and modems have doubled in the past couple of months, she said.
• ”The storms have been pretty vicious lately, and we've been replacing everything,” she said. “Computers are very sensitive … it depends on how much of the surge the computer gets.”
• Connecticut Light & Power offers to install a device called HomeGuard, which is set up between a meter and the building and can protect against power surges.
• The company will install it for a fee, and there is a monthly charge associated with the device.
• Officials said there has been no increase in demand for the device and were quick to warn that there is no certain or total protection from a lightning strike or power surge.
• The storms have interrupted electrical power as recently as Monday, when lightning struck power lines in Waterbury.
• The recent storms, however, have kept crews busy.

• Damaging, deadly effects

   The storms have caused damage, injury and death in some parts of the state.
• Last month, a contractor working for the Norwich Housing Authority was injured when he or something near him was struck by lightning.
• Also in July, lightning sparked a minor fire at an East Lyme home when an outside invisible fence was struck.
• A powerful storm last month caused the loss of power to the Beit Brothers grocery store in Waterford. Because the power was out for days, employees had to throw away two Dumpsters full of spoiled items.
• In late June, a man fishing in Bristol, R.I., was struck and killed by lightning when a storm moved through the area.
• A West Haven man was killed in June and four other people were injured when lightning struck the West Beach parking area at Hammonasset State Park in Madison.
• In May, lightning struck the main transformer of Unit 2 at the Millstone Power Station, causing a temporary shutdown.

    An interesting side note here is that lightening actually doesn't come from the clouds to the ground, instead the visible bolt that we are so familiar with originates at the ground as it works it's way up to the cloud. This was discovered about 25 years ago using super slow mo video of several storms.

    Interesting article. Last I read, the Sun still has diminished activity (few, if any sun spots, flares, etc.) and this has a huge impact on cooling our weather. I would suggest the article writer look into this for a follow-up piece.

• Tornado kills three people in Poland

• A tornado that struck southern Poland on Friday has killed at least three people and injured 34 more.
• Villages in southern Poland were devastated by the heavy storms, with roofs torn off homes, trees knocked down and vehicles overturned.
• The worst damage came in the southern province of Silesia, where two people were killed.
• One man near Czestochowa died after a tree crashed into his home, while a woman was crushed by the ceiling of her house in Rusinowice.
• In a separate incident one woman in the central city of Lodz was electrocuted by wires ripped off by heavy winds.

• Open water now stretches all the way round the Arctic, making it possible for the first time in human history to circumnavigate the North Pole, The Independent on Sunday can reveal.
• New satellite images, taken only two days ago, show that melting ice last week opened up both the fabled North-west and North-east passages, in the most important geographical landmark to date to signal the unexpectedly rapid progress of global warming.
• Last night Professor Mark Serreze, a sea ice specialist at the official US National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC), hailed the publication of the images – on an obscure website by scientists at the University of Bremen, Germany – as "a historic event",
• and said that it provided further evidence that the Arctic icecap may now have entered a "death spiral".
• Some scientists predict that it could vanish altogether in summer within five years, a process that would, in itself, greatly accelerate.
• But Sarah Palin, John McCain's new running mate, holds that the scientific consensus that global warming is melting Arctic ice is unreliable.
• The opening of the passages – eagerly awaited by shipping companies who hope to cut thousands of miles off their routes by sailing round the north of Canada and Russia – is only the greatest of a host of ominous signs this month of a gathering crisis in the Arctic.
• Early last week the NSDIC warned that, over the next few weeks, the total extent of sea ice in the Arctic may shrink to below the record low reached last year – itself a massive 200,000 square miles less than the previous worst year, 2005.
• Four weeks ago, tourists had to be evacuated from Baffin Island's Auyuittuq National Park because of flooding from thawing glaciers. Auyuittuq means "land that never melts".
• Two weeks later, in an unprecedented sighting, nine stranded polar bears were seen off Alaska trying to swim 400 miles north to the retreating icecap edge.
• Ten days ago massive cracking was reported in the Petermann glacier in the far north of Greenland, an area apparently previously unaffected by global warming.
• But it is the simultaneous opening – for the first time in at least 125,000 years – of the North-west passage around Canada and the North-east passage around Russia that promises to deliver much the greatest shock.
• Until recently both had been blocked by ice since the beginning of the last Ice Age.
• In 2005, the North-east passage opened, while the western one remained closed, and last year their positions were reversed. But the images, gathered by Nasa using microwave sensors that penetrate clouds, show that the North-west passage opened last weekend and that the last blockage on the north- eastern one – a tongue of ice stretching down to Russia across Siberia's Laptev Sea – dissolved a few days later.
• "The passages are open," said Professor Serreze, though he cautioned that official bodies would be reluctant to confirm this for fear of lawsuits if ships encountered ice after being encouraged to enter them.
• "It's a historic event. We are going to see this more and more as the years go by."
• Shipping companies are already getting ready to exploit the new routes.
• The Bremen-based Beluga Group says it will send the first ship through the North-east passage – cutting 4,000 nautical miles off the voyage from Germany to Japan – next year.
• And Canada's Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, last week announced that all foreign ships entering the North-west passage should report to his government – a move bound to be resisted by the US, which regards it as an international waterway.
• But scientists say that such disputes will soon become irrelevant if the ice continues to melt at present rates, making it possible to sail right across the North Pole.
• They have long regarded the disappearance of the icecap as inevitable as global warming takes hold, though until recently it was not expected until around 2070.
• Many scientists now predict that the Arctic ocean will be ice-free in summer by 2030 – and a landmark study this year by Professor Wieslaw Maslowski at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, concluded that there will be no ice between mid-July and mid-September as early as 2013.
• The tipping point, experts believe, was the record loss of ice last year, reaching a level not expected to occur until 2050.
• Sceptics then dismissed the unprecedented melting as a freak event, and it was indeed made worse by wind currents and other natural weather patterns.
• Conditions were better this year – it has been cooler, particularly last winter – and for a while it looked as if the ice loss would not be so bad. But this month the melting accelerated.
• Last week it shrank to below the 2005 level and the European Space Agency said: "A new record low could be reached in a matter of weeks."
• Four weeks ago, a seven-year study at the University of Alberta reported that – besides shrinking in area – the thickness of the ice had dropped by half in just six years.
• It suggested that the region had "transitioned into a different climatic state where completely ice-free summers would soon become normal".
• The process feeds on itself. As white ice is replaced by sea, the dark surface absorbs more heat, warming the ocean and melting more ice.

• In nearby Kirkbymoorside, resident Lisa Young criticised the response of the local authorities, saying council staff did not arrive with sandbags until 11am, when the worst of the flooding happened hours earlier.
• She said she had spent Saturday morning desperately trying to brush flood water away from her bungalow, adding: “We have been flooded twice in the last 18 months."

• Yesterday’s race meeting, at Haydock Park, Merseyside, was abandoned after nearly 1½in of rain. Within a few hours, race meetings at Stratford-on-Avon, Warwickshire; Gosforth Park, Newcastle; Leopardstown, Dublin; and Worcester, Worcestershire, followed suit.
• Other events have also been disrupted. Gloucestershire’s biggest agricultural show of the year was cancelled after days of torrential rain.
• In York, the River Ouse is expected to rise to approximately 4.5m above normal summer levels late this evening.
• A number of temporary defence works have already been deployed to protect local businesses and properties.
• The Aqua Barrier at Clementhorpe has been erected and sandbags and pumps have been put in place at a number of locations including Peckitt Street, Tower Place and Tower Gardens.
• The Environment Agency said it did not expect the floods to be as severe as those of July last year, when 50,000 properties were left awash, but warned that flooding could continue until the middle of the week.
• David Rooke, head of flood risk management at the agency, said: “After a wet summer the ground is already saturated, and as a result the rivers and streams are responding very quickly to small amounts of rain. We expect flooding to continue until the middle of next week.”

• More than 400 people were evacuated from their homes in Morpeth, Northumberland, as the town was “virtually cut off” when the River Wansbeck burst its banks, causing the worst flooding since the 1960s.
• The situation was so serious that an RAF helicopter was called in to help pluck several stranded residents to safety.
• At the height of the floods, Morpeth High Street was under 2ft of water, but Northumberland County Council member Andrew Tebbutt said the situation has “eased considerably” overnight. Residents spent the night at two rescue centres located in the north and the south of the town.
• Councillor Tebbutt, who is jointly in charge of emergency planning, said: “Fortunately it is not raining at the moment as it did most of the night. If we get torrential rain again like we did yesterday then it will re-flood very quickly, the ground is saturated.”
• He said around 1,000 homes were affected by the flooding and around 400 people were evacuated.
• “There were a considerable number of people who self-evacuated so the number will be higher,” he added.
• The British Red Cross said many of the people evacuated from their homes in Morpeth were elderly and were “traumatised” by the experience.
• Judy Evans, operations director for the North East and Cumbria, said the organisation was asked to help the emergency services, who had been unable to cope with the number of calls.
• “The flood waters rose so quickly that we were not able to help with that evacuation because we couldn’t get the vehicles in," she said.
• “It is very difficult when your house is being flooded and you are quite elderly so people needed help readjusting to that situation.”
• Topsy Clinch, 91, completed repairs to her cottage in Pickering just a month ago, after being flooded in June last year. She spent yesterday trying to move her furniture upstairs.
• “I have been flooded five times since I moved here in 1975, and this will be the sixth,” said Mrs Clinch. “It is chaos but it won’t get the better of me.”

• Six dead and hundreds homeless as storms rage across Britain
• The Environment Agency is warning water levels could continue to rise after six people were left dead and hundreds forced from their homes by autumnal storms.
• The North East is the region most seriously hit by the weather, although flash floods have also hit parts of Yorkshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
• Forecasters have predicted the rain will continue to fall in parts of Britain, especially the east coast, but said it would consist of random showers rather than the persistent rain of recent days.
• Some areas have suffered a month’s rainfall in 24 hours, with tragic consequences.

• In Stroud, Gloucestershire, emergency services had to battle to recover the body of a workman killed in a mud-slide after a trench collapsed in torrential rain.
• The 27-year-old, from nearby Cheltenham, was buried under the mud and police declared him dead at the scene.
• A 17-year-old girl from Thamesmead, in London, died when the 4x4 vehicle she was in overturned and plunged into a swollen river in Powys, mid-Wales, on Friday evening.
• The Land Rover Discovery was part of a convoy of off-road enthusiasts attempting to cross a ford near the Llyn Brianne reservoir, but it was swept downstream by flood water.
• The group could not get a mobile phone signal because of the remoteness of the area, so one of the party had to drive for 30 minutes before finding help at a farmhouse.
• The girl was airlifted to Bronglais hospital, in Aberystwyth, but died shortly after arriving. The other people in the Land Rover were treated for hypothermia.
• In the northeast, a 42-year-old motorcyclist from Sheffield died after hitting a tree branch on the A66 near Darlington.
• The weather was also blamed for causing a car accident in which a young couple were killed. Barry Rowe, 29, and Rebecca Hoynes, 30, died after their Subaru estate hit a grass bank and careered off the road in Plymouth, Devon, in heavy rain on Friday.
• And North Yorkshire Police said a motorcyclist was killed when he was in collision with a fire engine responding to an emergency call near the village of Wilton, on the A170 between Scarborough and Pickering.
• Earlier in the day fire crews from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service had been pumping out homes in the Pickering area after the local beck burst its banks.

• What   meteorologists and the media are not telling you
• The   National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), will provide   to anyone that requests the list, a copy of experimental weather modification   programs ongoing (as well as historical), in the United States.
• This   list is not complete due to the fact that many experimental weather   modification programs are “classified top secret” by the   U.S. military.
• These experimental programs are unregulated and are not   subject to oversight by anyone.
• In addition, the public, ranchers, watershed   supervisors, forestry, the Environmental Protection Agency, states,   agriculture food producers, fish and game agencies, local counties,   and anyone else that depends upon the weather, are usually not notified   in advance of these programs being initiated.
• NOAA   has, under its umbrella, the National Weather Service (NWS). If the   NWS is notified about these experimental weather programs, they rarely   put this information into their state and local weather forecasts, leaving   the public to believe that their weather is “normal” or   that “extreme and other weather events” are caused by climate   change or “global warming.”
• The NWS provides weather information   to local, county, and state meteorologists who then use this information   to add to local weather forecasts in the area where you live, but most   neglect to advise the public about these modification programs.
• The   National Weather Service uses weather models in their forecasting. These   models are based on data which is collected from a variety of sources   and historical information.
• There is just one glitch.
• Their   models may not include at least two factors: 1) Experimental weather   modification programs, and 2) Climate changes, based on NASA studies   and research.
• (NASA noted in an October 2005, newsletter that increasingly   persistent jet contrails may turn into man-made clouds that are”…trapping   warmth in the atmosphere and exacerbating global warming…”
• NASA goes on to state that “…any change in global cloud   cover may contribute to long-term changes in Earth’s climate.   Contrails, especially persistent contrails, represent a human-caused   increase in the Earth’s cloudiness, and are likely to be affecting   climate and ultimately our natural resources…”)
• Thus, state   and local forecasts may be wrong, in many instances, because they don’t   take into consideration these two factors which can dramatically change   your state, county or local weather.
• Since   the late 1980s, these experimental weather modification programs have   grown in scope and sophistication. The public has been denied access   to this information, in most cases, and weather modification has usually   not been reported by the media except on rare occasions.
• The   local weather forecasters usually don’t report on these weather   modification programs, on the results of those programs, when giving   local and regional forecasts. Many may not even be aware of these programs   or may have been told not to report on them.
• This means that most weather   forecasters are not giving the public the true facts about the weather   they are experiencing as a result of these programs.
• Those meteorologists   that know about these experimental weather modification programs and   don’t report them in advance, during or after these events, are   denying the public critical information, especially to those who depend   upon the weather to grow the crops we depend upon for food, drinking   water supplies, and tree health.
• The   majority of agriculture producers are never told about these weather   modification programs which could cause adverse weather like drought   or flooding.
• Current legislation is now pending in the U.S. Congress:   Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison’s U.S. Senate Bill #1807 and   Colorado Democratic Congressman Mark Udall’s Bill #3445. These   bills do not contain provisions that require public participation in   the decision-making process, public notification, congressional oversight   at any level (other than notification of these programs after the fact),   or any provisions to protect crop production, public drinking water   supplies, watersheds or forestlands throughout the United States.
• Military   programs and experiments are also allowed under these bills. The Environmental   Protection Agency is not notified and therefore not able to protect   the public and the environment from adverse weather affects or from   some toxic chemicals used in some of these experimental programs.
• On   July 28, 2008, KTVU News (Oakland/San Francisco/San Jose, California),   presented a new program on weather modification. [5] John Fowler, the   Health & Science Editor for KTVU, conducted research into this subject   after being given many government documents and other information. This   Special Report was the result of his investigation and it is one of   the very few you will see on this subject.
• KTVU   Program Advance Advertising Segments prior to the Broadcast of their   Special Report:
• 1   - “Coming up we investigate a weather modification program   underway here in Northern California.” (This implies there is   only one ongoing program in Northern CA. NOAA experimental weather modification   records indicate there were at least 13 California programs in 2007,   and there are 5 or more ongoing programs so far in 2008.)
• 2   - Julie Haener (KTVU News Anchor): “Ever wish you could   change the weather? What   you might consider impossible is not only possible, but is happening   here in Northern California. KTVU Channel 2 News reveals who is modifying   our weather and why. Weather patterns have been around longer than man.   Should they be tampered with now?” Rosalind Peterson: ‘Who   plays God with our crops, who plays God with different areas of the   State of California or (individual) counties?” Julie Haener: “See   the upcoming program on KTVU Channel 2 News.”

• John   Fowler: “So what about making rain?” (KTVU Shows   a Paramount Move Clip from The Rainmaker showing actor Burt Lancaster   yelling “Rain!”) “Burt Lancaster’s character   was based on a real life Californian who claimed 500 rain making successes,   including a San Diego flood. Charles Hatfield died a half century ago   without revealing his secrets. But his successors are hard at work,   here in downtown San Francisco, at PG&E’s (Pacific Gas &   Electric Company), headquarters, up on the 16th Floor, in their weather   office, where the utilities top weather man, Byron Marler, studies charts   and satellite pictures. Marler’s job is to change weather, although   he won’t say it that way.”
• Byron   Marler (PG&E): “Well, we are not really changing   the overall picture of the weather in the Sierra Nevada with the exception   of causing a little more snowfall over some of the watersheds. 5% to   10% additional water on an annual basis.”
• John   Fowler: “PG&E uses what are basically big propane   (ground based), gas flares in the mountains. But others use different   methods, including airplanes to scatter tiny particles of silver iodide   to seed clouds.” (There are other more sophisticated methods using   a wide variety of chemicals but these were not identified in this program.)
• Byron   Marler (PG&E): “Most of this watershed in the Sierra   Nevada are cloud seeded by someone.”
• John   Fowler: “Water districts, corporate farms, even private   individuals, all modify the weather with little oversight and no government   restrictions.”
• Golden   Gate Weather Consulting Meteorologist, Jan Null, advises cloud seeders:   “You have a lot of people experimenting with the atmosphere, with   only partially known sorts of effects that are going to come out of   it.” (No mention of the synergistic effects of these multiple   California programs or effects on California from experiments being   conducted in adjoining states like Nevada.
    Note: There are lawsuits with regard to weather modification programs   in California.)
• John   Fowler: “So are we messing with mother nature?”
• Rosalind   Peterson: “Who plays God with our crops, who plays God   with different areas of the State of California or the counties? In   other words, the weather belongs to all of us.”
• John   Fowler: “Former (California U.S.D.A. Agriculture Crop   Loss Adjustor) Rosalind Peterson, of Ukiah (CA), spoke (as an invited   guest speaker), at the United Nations (forum on Climate Change), last   year (September 5-7, 2007), opposing weather modification (legislation   due to negative impacts on agriculture and watersheds). Although some   studies (three published prior to 1992) dispute it, she said pulling   extra water from clouds in one place steals water from folks downwind   (or in surrounding counties and states disrupting the micro-climates   needed for crop production).” (This program did not specify which   government studies dispute these claims.)
• Rosalind   Peterson: “If we are doing a lot (of weather modification),   here… (pointing to a map showing the State of California).”   (Rosalind Peterson presented a color map of the United States showing   the number, from NOAA statistics, and the scope, number of square miles,   of weather modification programs in the United States that are now part   of the public record.
• KTVU declined to show the entire map or discuss   the 60+ ongoing programs listed by NOAA.
• In addition, during the taped   1 hour, 45 minute interview, KTVU failed to mention the number of programs   ongoing in California or the vote by the Los Angeles City Council (June   2008), to start a new weather modification program to put more snow,   each year, on the San Bernadino Mountains in Southern California.
• A   program that could impact rainfall and weather across the food belts   in the Central Valley and in areas where agriculture crop production   and surrounding forestlands depend upon fragile micro-climates and “normal”   weather patterns for water and snow.)
• John   Fowler: “Peterson says that is sparking ‘weather   wars’ across the Western states, expanding rainmaking programs   that have unknown (synergistic) consequences. She says cloud seeding   maybe making water problems worse.”
• Rosalind   Peterson: “I think that we could go to conservation,   I think we could take others steps for better water usage and maybe   limit those (experimental weather modification) programs, to only a   very (regulated) few, if at all.”
• John   Fowler: “And what about unintended weather modification   such as those persistent jet contrails that crisscross our skies. These   are over Mendocino County where military jets practice.” (KTVU   showed persistent jet contrails and a military jet onscreen).
• Maury   Roos: “They are blocking some of the sunlight coming   in but they also trap, trap some of the heat, so the jury is out as   to what the exact effects are…but those contrails do have an effect   upon the weather and climate.”
• John   Fowler: “In Beijing (China), over the next few weeks,   well funded Chinese weather modification experts will attempt to reduce   smog by increasing air cleaning rain and will try to decrease rain during   Olympic events. (August 2008). U.S. experts are skeptical.”
• Maury   Roos: “I can’t help but wonder if maybe they are   exaggerating the amount of influence they have over weather.”
• Jan   Null: “It rains about half the days during the early   part of August in Beijing. The effects are probably not going to be   noticeable to anybody in the stands watching an Olympic event.”
• John   Fowler: “Professional rainmakers say they can increase   or decrease precipitation anywhere conditions are right. Proof is elusive.   Forecasters can’t predict precisely how much rain would fall anyway.
• Still proponents say California and the United States are falling behind   the rest of the world in rain-making science (and) that we need to invest   in technology that might help us avoid water worries.

• John   Fowler’s statement that these programs might help us avoid “water   worries” fails to address the issue of “who owns our weather   and who will, or will not, profit from these experimental programs”?
• Since there is only a limited amount of water available at any given   time, and since micro-climates and the weather needed for crop production   and watersheds is critical in every county, this issue needs to be addressed   by the media, the public, all agriculture production and water resources   entities, and our elected officials.
• And remember that United States weather   modification companies are reported to be conducting weather modification   programs in more than 50 countries around the world.
• It doesn’t   appear that our science and weather modification programs are behind   other countries or even that they are underfunded.
• U.S. Homeland Security   is now funding Hurricane experiments starting in August 2008.

• The decision   is not being left up to you. The news media and their meteorologists   are not giving us all the facts about our weather.
• Who   owns your weather and who decides who gets your rain or snow?
• And more and more   weather modification programs are planned in your future without your   knowledge or consent.

• Who or What is Controlling Our Weather and Why?

• Our planet is in a place now of growth and change as it is scheduled to be. It has its own cycles as does the sun and our entire universe for that matter.
• I am truly fearful that interfering with the planets natural cycles may be a tremendous mistake.
• A friend of mine listened to my fears and suggested that the powers that be that are doing these things may know something we do not.
• He suggested that all this on going chemical spraying and weather manipulation might be to try to stall or ease an event that is coming our way.
• I would like to feel that the actions I fear are for the good of mankind yet I am having great difficulty grasping that concept living in a world of hate, war and violence.
• Frankly all of this has me confused, annoyed and very concerned.
• How can changing the natural actions of this large living earth not cause drastic results?
• I watch as we go about the business of living green. I watch as we have international committees formed to deal with pollution. I wonder how we can over look the events taking place that manipulate the climate throwing the natural cycles of the earth into a tailspin.
• How can this not be a potentially dangerous practice?
• Could it be that the spraying going on over our heads for the past years is an attempt to ward off catastrophic events? If so, why isn’t it discussed by science openly?
• Are we already in danger and the attempts by governments to change the future of this earth being done by way of the weather manipulations?
• Can the constant chemtrails above us be a needed event for the survival of mankind?
• What ever is going on it is happening in secret and we are being handled as if we are brainless and blind.
• A far greater fear for me is that the world is not united in the events happening around the world and societies are taking the task of changing the wishes of Mother Nature into their own hands.
• This can only end in devastation as invading the natural life cycle of this planet should never be done for the good of the few when it could mean the devastation of many.
• I do not understand or know what is going on concerning these matters. I am not even sure who is to be blamed or targeted as the reasons all of it is going on.
• All I do know is the weather is being changed, we are being sprayed, and it all goes on with a yawn and nod from the human race.
• I am nervous about this world. Too many different cycles and timed events are now due in the near future. I fear for us all and simply want to know what is going on that will directly affect each and everyone of our lives.
• Are we being protected or fooled? Are we being helped or are we in upcoming danger beyond the events we know are due to occur?
• Is there anyone driving this bus or are we all simply holding on for dear life as whoever and whatever does what they will with us?
• All I can do is share my concerns with you – and hope I am wrong about my fears and all will forever remain well with our world.

• Who or What is Controlling Our Weather and Why?

• I have been writing about the odd chemtrails that have been dusting our skies for about a year.
• The trails are seen often in huge displays over Long Island New York where I reside.
• They are not normal air traffic and I will no longer go about the tedious task of explaining why. They are not contrails and not being sprayed in the commercial or military air traffic lanes-
• so please spare me that nonsense.
• We are being sprayed with something for some reason. The only fact we have is that we are being kept in the complete dark about it.
• Have you noticed the articles and newscasts concerning our climate problems?
• Have you listened to the endless debate on climate change until you are ready to collapse from the non-ending conflict?
• Have you noticed no one in any of those arenas who discuss these things ever ask, inquire or suggest that the crafts spraying our skies non stop may have something to do with our climate issues?
• Is it me or are we getting to the point of such brain freeze that these things go on and on and we simply sit, stare and do nothing!
• I read two articles in the past few weeks about China seeding its weather to cause early snowstorms.
• The news article proclaimed clearly that Beijing Weather Modification Office found themselves seeding clouds with chemicals.
• This event was in an effort to end a drought in the area. China did this not once but twice recently.
• Both times produced full-blown snowstorms.
• Hugo Chavez says he is starting to "bombard" clouds now that Cuba has provided Venezuela with cloud-seeding help in an effort to produce rain and alleviate the effects of a severe drought.
• The Venezuelan president said that specialized equipment, sent by Fidel Castro and Cuban President Raul Castro, is starting to be used to seed clouds from planes.
• "We're bombarding clouds," Chavez said during a televised speech. "We have some planes there, and some equipment that Fidel and Raul sent us."
• It is clear and out in the open that climate manipulation is going on openly and without concern on this earth.
• Our own country as well as so many others is also being sprayed and caught in this weather changing agenda. It is not science fiction it is real and happening.
• I sit and look at this entire situation and wonder how we can with serious faces debate climate changes or problems when we are the ones tampering with Mother Nature.
• I know we are heading into very unstable times ahead with many cycles coming due including volcano eruptions, earthquakes, solar changes and pole flips to mention only a few.
• I cannot help fear that our interfering with our climate at this time in history a road to disastrous ends.
