Karla Karr's List: Summer Interests

    • Sheila T project was discovered on May 1 as she posted it on Twitter. I was able to chat at her directly and share a VT that I had created with students. I then sent to the link to a teacher who I knew was "open" to a spur of the moment opportunity. It would also help support writing, and review of Famous Virginias at a very high level. She was very reseptive. She is going to put the questions on the board. Let them pick on to write about and when i return to Cloverdale of the next week I will help the students record their response and hear / responses from students acroos the state! So why did collaboration work? IRTs part/attitude. The teachers part/ attitude. I did share with the other 5th grade teacher I work with who is more rigid in "her pace"? I almost dis not share it with here thinking "she is not going to want to do it. But we will see? I thought I would make her respond yes or no rather than me respond or assume no for her. So how are you as a teacher percieved? DO you send out a collaborative vibe? How does one do that? What makes an IRT want to offer a project to one teacher and not another? - Karla Karr on 2008-05-02
