The program is comprised of five full-time terms of study and takes approximately 20 months to complete depending on the length of the practicum. Students attending part-time will take longer to complete the program. In the first four trimesters, are delivered online and allow for an unprecedented level of communication among students and between student and professor using a state of the art electronic learning platform.
The term “blended” refers to the fifth term of study, which is the practicum portion of the program. The Director of Clinical Training works closely with students to help them find a in their home community. While there is no assurance students will obtain their first choice of practicum placement, the clinical training department makes every effort to accommodate student requests for practicum location, supervision, times on site, and type of population served. Overall, the practicum is an important aspect of the program because it helps students apply under professional supervision the theory they have learned to real counselling situations
