"Howto enable root on Android including Cupcake.
You need a tool called ADB - Android Debug Bridge
1. get the SDK from Google from here
2. expand the zip and copy it someone handy. I chose /Applications/Android/SDK/sdk_1.5r1
3. turn on USB Debugging - go to settings>applications>development
Connect your Android by USB to your Mac and type the following:
/applications/android/sdk_1.5r1/tools/adb shell
gets you a command prompt '#'
# mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
# cd /system/bin
# cat sh > su
# chmod 4755 su
# exit
and unplug the USB."
"Hey guys, I think I was able to manage how to set up the LEAP on G1 (I didn't had time to test it YET, will try later on)
but under /data/misc/wifi you'll see the file wpa_supplicant.conf reading the set up file under /etc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf
I could see the following LEAP configuration
network={
ssid="leap-example"
key_mgmt=IEEE8021X
eap=LEAP
identity="user"
password="foobar"
checking file /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf I could see ALL my network that I had set up before (yes unfortunately the password is not encrypted).

"Sipdroid allows you to use Android phone with almost any SIP provider. The calls are crystal clear even over a 3G network, likewise for a WLAN connection. The best part about Sipdroid is that it integrates into your phone, eliminating the need for a separate phone book. You simply use your Android contacts in the same way as if you were making a call over a cellular network. It’s really an amazing application that is stable and simple to use, with the potential to save you plenty of money."

– I found the wpa_supplicant.conf file on two locations which are both read-only and can’t be overwritten after editing on my PC.
The conf file was at /etc/wifi/ and /system/etc/wifi/"
