This is weird, but it claims to use the plasticity of sensory input areas in the brain. I don't know if it would really create "visual" mental images, but I listened to a demo. It matched soundwave frequency patterns to objects in the picture. When they were taken away, the frequencies changed ever so slightly.
And how do they calculate that figure?
