For science lessons, students use the receivers to search for things such as certain trees where they have to collect leaves, seeds and bark rubbings for further study, or it may lead them to a place where they conduct an experiment on site.
“The program gets students outside of the classroom and it helps them develop problem-solving skills,” Hubbard said.
