Adobe Captivate 4 Text-to-Speech feature gives a Dictionary Editor tool to add or change the pronunciation for a word. This tool is available at <Adobe Captivate Installation Dir>\VT\<agent>\M16\bin\UserDicEng.exe. The default version of this tool is not unlocked. So when a word is added/changed and its pronunciation is tested, it announces that it is a trial license. This post explains how to fix this.
Text to speech does the same functionality in Captivate 5 as it used to do in Captivate 4, i.e. it converts the text to speech. The distinctive part being that it has quite a number of enhancements to make it even more easier to use.
In this blog post, let us learn how to tweak the speech generated using Loquendo voices.

"Sometimes when we are creating quizzes, we come across requirements like linking a remedial screen to the question screens, or branch out the course based on learner’s response.

...Adobe Flash / HTML5 team released a pretty cool, albeit experimental technology, codenamed Wallaby, which converts Flash (.FLA) files into HTML5. Wallaby is a free AIR application available on Adobe Labs, which means it works on Mac and Windows.
I downloaded Wallaby and started testing it using Adobe Captivate 5 content and so far, I like the results. Please keep in mind that because Wallaby is experimental, there are many things that are not converted properly at this point, but it's worth trying it and providing feedback.
"Admittedly bizarre but tons of fun, this week's eSeminar focused on saving money and still getting high quality images and animations for your eLearning modules by leveraging free animation software to create animations and even stage complex simulations.
In a test of my rapidly aging laptop I held the session in Adobe Connect, did Captures with Adobe Captivate Full Motion Recording of Linden Labs Second Life and ran a browser for good measure.
In this screen, we have six tabs and there’s some text related to it. The easiest way to create such a screen is to create seven slides, with the first one in the start state and the rest of the six slides with the text related to each tab and then linking the six screens with each of the tab. Lot of work, huh!
If you want to accommodate it all in one slide, retain the same slide number and make the project less cluttered… There’s a cool way to do so! Read on…

I love word clouds. You know, those cool clusters of words that give instant summary of concepts by making words bigger and bolder the more times they are used somewhere. Today I thought it would be fun to show you how you can make wicked cool word clouds based on your Adobe Captivate (and even Microsoft PowerPoint) projects in just a few minutes.

You are creating an eLearning course, which spans into multiple modules. You want to tie it all together and have a Menu page from where you would like to access these modules. You also want to enable bookmarking so that a tick mark appears next to the module name, after the learner has viewed the module.
