YouTube provides a number of resources for teachers to help them make the most of YouTube in the classroom. Use the playlist feature to build collections of videos for your classroom. The community features allow you to easily share content, playlists, and ideas with other YouTube teachers.
YouTube Edu is a large collection of YouTube videos and channels dedicated to educational content. The collection is organized into categories by subject and topic.
YouTube has been unblocked on the faculty wireless network to allow teachers to have access to the many excellent resources for professional growth and instructional purposes. However, much of the content on YouTube is inappropriate for the work place and/or the classroom. When playing a YouTube video, you may notice that some videos include advertisements, lists of related videos, and comments that may be distracting for students, or may not be appropriate. SafeShare.TV offers a simple service that allows you to play and share a YouTube video without these distractions.
Many sites, like Knowmia, curate and organize educational videos, many of which are hosted on YouTube. Knowmia is an excellent resource with over 8,000 educational videos on topics/lessons.
Another curated, organized collection of educational videos. Curated by teachers, wiki-style, these videos are assigned a age group and are organized by subject and topic. This site began in Mississippi and still has some excellent Mississippi-focused content. Many of the videos are hosted on YouTube. Videos on this site WILL be viewable by students on the student network.
Don't forget Learn360! This large collection of educational videos is available via district subscription. Organized by subject, state standards and common core. Teachers may create playlists to use in teaching and even download clips to share if needed. Contact Kenneth Griswold or your administrator for access if you do not have an account.
Edudemic provides an excellent annotated list of some of the best video sites, organized into categories like Lesson planning, teacher education, subject areas, etc. Take a look. There are many good ones here that I hadn't seen before. Are there other sites you would add to the list?

TPSD teachers now have access to YouTube on the faculty wireless network, accessible from their MacBooks. These resources will help teachers learn about the many valuable ways YouTube may be used in the classroom.
