1st principle relates to problem centered instruction; four more principles are then state for each of the foru phases for effective instruction. As a whole, these five first principles can be most effectively explained as:

knowledge is activated as a foundation for
new knowledge.1
3. Learning is promoted when new knowledge
is demonstrated to the learner.
4. Learning is promoted when new knowledge
is applied by the learner.
5. Learning is promoted when new knowledge
is integrated into the learner’s world.

- Reinforces the need for those able to write code at a young age...and further down the road, having been exposed to and fluently write in code will be an important skill to have when applying for jobs/careers
- OS opportunities forces people to SHARE their knowledge without always being given complete credit; universal tool to be shared so all voices are heard within the community and that their technlogy is built on a platform of mutual understanding and SHARING!
