This page contains the program and proceedings of a one-day conference / workshop held in Washington, DC on February 17, 2009 on the role of information and communication technologies in an era of connected governance.
The work on the Federal Enterprise Architecture Data Reference Model, Data Architecture, Semantic Interoperability, Interagency Working Group on Digital Data, etc. are spread across multiple Web sites and Wiki pages. That information should be organized and integrated to illustrate Data Reference Model compliance and implementation. Gov 2.0 means "data, experience, and institutional knowledge accure at the bottom" to close the gap with managers (see slides 8). The future of Federal data computing infrastructure would seem to be "cloud computing". Gartner defines cloud computing as: "A style of computing where massively scalable IT-related capabilities are provided 'as a service', using Internet technologies, to multiple external customers."
WordNet® is a large lexical database of English, developed under the direction of George A. Miller. Nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs are grouped into sets of cognitive synonyms (synsets), each expressing a distinct concept. Synsets are interlinked by means of conceptual-semantic and lexical relations. The resulting network of meaningfully related words and concepts can be navigated with the browser. WordNet is also freely and publicly available for download. WordNet's structure makes it a useful tool for computational linguistics and natural language processing.
