First day of school scare tactics. Also, this can be used to help students with reading strategies - allow students to focus on the problems and what the solutions were.
This website was recommended because kids become familiar with the characters and can then make their own movies. Very neat!
Again, another neat way to allow my first grade friends to integrate technology into their language arts assignments (SOLs).
Here is the video I made for Dr. Matkins' class. It relates to the First Grade Science SOL that focuses on the changes in weather and temperature (1.7, maybe?). I find it to be a cute little digital story that will get my first graders outside and observing the world around them.
This is a neat voice thread that includes student writing, integrating language arts & technology. Could definitely see this as a neat way to share student work with parents!
What a cool way to integrate language arts & technology by having students create a digital project or story about something they wrote.
These are great examples of digital stories that were made by a classroom. They integrate technology into a social studies unit on communities and families. I love this idea and would like to use it in my career!
This would be awesome for teaching upper grades about oil spills, and includes an activity to go along with the videos. Teachers can further integrate this by adding in a read aloud (available at the LRC in the VAST science trade bags).
Cool digital stories about National Parks!
My students are learning about Benjamin Franklin right now in class. Although I think that a BrainPop digital story would be more engaging, it is still important to present things to students in a "history channel" format so that they utilize non-cartoon videos, too.
I'm cheating a little by including this because I also included the John Smith Explorer digital storybook in my games list - but! There are so many cool resources on here and most of them take form as a story that have complimentary games on it. Worth checking out!
