• Niko-niko Calendar (or Smiley Calendar), a Japanese creation, showing team member’s mood for each day. Everyone puts a smiley mark onto their own calendar after the day’s work, before leaving the team room [Sakata06]. It looks at the project from the viewpoint of member’s mental health and motivation.

• f you are lucky enough to have a good non-expanding unit of measure, then you can use the ‘’Burn-down’’ chart, which some people find emotionally more powerful.
• there is a special feeling about hitting the number zero that helps people get excited about completing their work and pressing forward.
• that the coarser the unit of measure, the longer the blackout period during which no information is available
• The smaller the unit, the shorter the initial black-out period.
• The ‘’Iceberg List’’ is useful in hostile environments, where the sponsors change the requirements and priorities on a daily basis and without warning.
