Before beginning to read my report I recommend watching these two segments from Hans Roslings presentation. The first clip is one of the best examples of an intuitive and comprehensive data set I have seen and the other clip articulates very well the ultimate goals at the global level of my much smaller proposal and helps to place my goals in the context of an already working project.

I recommend watching the end of this video to see a living example of the idea proposed. Cameron Sinclair proposes the use and need for open source architecture, the requirements to its structure, and gives examples of it already in action on the ground.
