Jordan Khayat's List: Battle of the Bulge

  • "Over a million men, 500,000 Germans, 600,000 Americans (more than fought at Gettysburg) and 55,000 British. "

"100,000 German casualties, killed, wounded or captured."

Kline, John. Battle of the Bulge. 1996. Web. 27 February 2011. .

  • " The Battle of the Bulge, Hitler's massive counteroffensive, was to be a surprise thrust of great power, sending panzer divisions and and infantry bursting through Belgium's Ardennes Forest to cut the allied forces in two at the most weakly held part of their front. The sudden onslaught immediately shattered the front line. However, after the German's initial, shocking success between the December 16 and 19, Montgomery's armies on the north and Bradley's on the south squeezed hard, forcing the Germans to withdraw."
