The major difference between a Learning Management System (LMS) and a Learning Content Management System (LCMS) is content management.
In the LMS, mainly administrative functions happen- including assessments, tracking etc.
Whereas in a LContent M S, user's can manage content, reuse it, add content ie videos etc.
What is the Knowledge economy?

How to set up Learning Element web resource for students
Learning by Design
Web 2.0 software developed by Cope and Kalantz for teachers to design e Learning components for students.
Real time text chat on for classroom interaction.
Relevance: in synchronous time, you students can post comments and questions to you and each other. I have used this in my class, but think that it would also provide a nice way to interact during online learning session times.
Download and save videos
Wiki defined by originator as the 'simplest online data base'.
A wiki (Listeni/ˈwɪki/ wik-ee) is a web application which allows people to add, modify, or delete content in collaboration with others. In a typical wiki, text is written using a simplified markup language or a rich-text editor.[1][2] While a wiki is a type of content management system, it differs from a blog or most other such systems in that the content is created without any defined owner or leader, and wikis have little implicit structure, allowing structure to emerge according to the needs of the users.[2]
What is Flipped classroom
Richard Buckland and wikis in Uni courses - and how they changed his teaching and his student's learning.
Ward Cunningham discussing the simplicity of wiki 'it change's itself, it does not need a software technician to make it change'.
Resource Type: Resource Development using iMovie.
Cost: $6.50 - download application to your device.
iMovie is a powerful tool for making instructional videos for your students. But the many capabilities of the software needs to be mastered. Text based instruction can be hard to follow, so this instructional video feels a necessary need.
The iMovie lessons are divided into short 3-6 minute step by step tutorials that you can follow and practice as you go. The instructions are clear and of course, you can stop and start and replay as many times as you need .
Relevance: I used this application over a week and by the end, had produced a movie that included animations, edited film clips and sound syncs. The result can be shared on YouTube or emailed to students.
There creative potential of visual media for learning is unlimited, so the iMovie skill set could potentially transform your teaching approaches over time.
I think a movie would be a great way to really engage with students in a e Learning project. Also, could provide a great avenue for creative collaboration.
Common Craft - What is a wiki?
Not everyone really knows what a wiki is or how it can be used in e Learning. This little video explains it all very nicely.
Relevance: I think that a wiki would add greater student interactivity in the learning project. For me, I think that using a wiki would give learners an opportunity to share their ideas ( but must be fact based) and to expand their knowledge base.
