Very cool tool - Turn a list of web sites (bookmarked) into a nicely pesented web slide show. Notes can be added, content can be tagged, and it has an audio track.
Proprofs Flashcards is a site that could come in handy for teachers or students needing to study for tests. This site has an extensive collection of existing flashcards that cover a variety of subjects, ranging from chemistry to psychology. The flashcards are organized into several categories and are free of charge to anyone. Flashcard sets can also be created and edited by the user, allowing teachers to create sets for their students or for students to create sets for themselves. The interface is user-customizable down to the font size, text, and page colors. Cards can also be embedded and directly accessed from a class Web site or personal home page. All sets can also be "tagged," or given keywords that users can enter when searching for the cards they need most. Tagging allows for more specific categorization.
This is an unusual site at which you could find a project created by someone else or build your own (and share it). The concept is deceptively simple: bring your address list of sites you want your students to use and build a lesson web site that directs them in how to use them. There are hundreds of “tracks” already available for your students to use and for you to use as examples with a good search tool to make finding what you want easy. Best of all, the service is free and free of advertising. It is sponsored by the Advanced Learning Technologies project at the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning.
