This gateway is a broad collection of links about the history of pottery and ceramics from Ancient Egyptian to Greek to Chinese and American. There are many useful links on the various pottery topics with links to blogs, websites, forums and interviews. This is a great resource for the high school student and includes a photo gallery. The drawback is the sponsored sites and ads found within the content listing on the page.

This gateway was created in 1994 by Victor Bryant, a former educator/lecturer with 20+ years experience. His page was created to stimulate creativity and inspire students to take their ceramics studies to a higher level. There are web tutorials, illustrations and interactive graphics that would be fun for high school students to explore. There are tabs for Greek, Roman, Etruscan and Chinese ceramics along with firings/kilns and frits/glazes. There are also links to ceramic/pottery discussion sites and numerous related sites. The last update was July 2008.

This gateway is a compilation of websites that are some of the best on the topic of International Pottery. With a copyright of 2009, it is fairly current and includes timelines, reference e-books, techniques, styles, equipment and styles. There are links to the history of pottery from various countries. There are links to associated websites and directories, however, the placement of links to sponsored sites is a little distracting. Otherwise, a decent source for information for the high school student to learn about pottery/ceramics history
