The United States Committee of the Blue Shield (USCBS) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to the protection of cultural property during armed conflict. USCBS is composed of a number of cultural property professional organizations and facilitates coordination between different cultural property organizations, local and national government, the emergency services, and the armed forces. USCBS provide a forum to improve emergency preparedness by sharing experiences and exchanging information and works to raise national awareness of the threats to cultural heritage. USCBS promotes the ratification and implementation of the 1954 Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict.
