This is a New York TImes web page article about Korea's history and how that history has shaped the recent conflict with North Korea in 2010. This page is in my list because it gives a clear, easy understanding of Korea's recent past and explains how that past is affecting Korea's present. The article focuses on some of the military customs of Korea and why South Korea has the relationship with North Korea that it does today. Newspapers, even the New York Times, are written for a Grade 8 reading level, so it is easier for my age group to understand. The website has links to other articles about Korea, and other New York Times features. One thing to look out for is the "Read More" link at the bottom, which indicates that the article isn't finished.
