Writing is no cakewalk, that’s for sure. But sometimes you have to wonder why some writers just won’t quit. Here are 24 headlines that never should have made it to the paper.
How many fictional elements or minerals can you name? Surely, Adamantium? Kryptonite? Have you forgotten about Flubber and Vibranium?
The same is true here and upon closer inspection, it turns out it would suck pretty hard to date the Wendy's girl, for several reasons:
This video is almost ten minutes long, but worth it. First, a group of teens has predictable but hilarious reactions to outdated 90s computer words, which is fun to watch. Then, the Fine Brothers turn things around and ask the teens some basic questions about the Internet, presumably so that twenty years from now they can make Teens React to 2014 Teens Reaction to 90s Internet. "This Hollywood tradition / inside joke of purposefully using the scream in a variety of films began with sound effects designer Ben Burtt (Star Wars, Indiana Jones) who noticed a particular scream being used in a number of Warner Brother’s films: Them in 1954, Helen of Troy in 1956, The Green Berets in 1968, etc. From then on, Burtt began slipping the Wilhelm Scream into every movie he worked on, beginning with George Lucas’s Star Wars: A New Hope. After that, it didn’t take long for the Wilhelm Scream to become Burtt’s personal sound signature, and other sound editors took notice. Following Burtt’s lead, editors like Richard Anderson (Poltergeist) and Mark Mangini (Gremlins) began using the Wilhelm Scream in their own work, feeding the fire and helping the little joke spread."
"NEW YORK—Addressing the show’s legions of passionate fans, HBO executives officially announced Friday that the hit series Game Of Thrones will not be returning for its highly anticipated fourth season this weekend. “For those who have been patiently waiting to find out when the exciting war for the Iron Throne will be coming back, the wait is over—we will not be airing a brand-new episode of the show on Sunday,” said HBO’s president of programming Michael Lombardo, confirming that, if viewers turn on their television Sunday night and tune it to HBO, the popular adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s A Song Of Ice And Fire fantasy novels would not be on."
"Imagine a realm where the most horrifying terrors of the underworld emerge to wreak bloody vengeance upon any who... hmm? what's that? you wanna go literally anywhere else? yeah, good idea let's get out of here"
Social media can be a powerful tool. While you're probably using it to connect with friends, it's also helpful when trying to discipline your kids.
No, we're not talking about taking away their Internet privileges — that would be too easy. Embarrassment, however, can act as an amazing motivator. And there's no better vehicle for parental-driven embarrassment than Facebook.
These might not be parenting-book-sanctioned tips, but sometimes when raising kids you have to think outside the box.
