It's been my observation in recent years that penmanship has declined, even among students who are gifted thinkers. Can there be a relationship between the expression of gifted thinking and being able to write or typing?
Even though schools are leaving penmanship aside since Common Core requirements do not list it as a measureable academic skill, the loss of handwriting may impact the academic scores.
Importance of handwriting can be a predictor to reading ability (and therefore gifted thinking?) and ability to learn a second language?
OK, some proof...let's get back to cursive writing and the 'neatness matters' train of thought that not only encourages brain activity, but inspires pride in expressing thoughts.
