A problem attributed to erroneous trackpad temperatures is causing some PowerBook G4s to forcibly enter sleep mode. A user in the MacFixIt Forums reports that his PowerBook’s trackpad is reaching temperatures between 140 and 250 degrees Celsius. Obviously this is not possible, but the operating system still thinks the trackpad is about to start World War Three and immediately sends the PowerBook into the sleep state.
Units experiencing this problem may or may not see this message in their system logs:
Nov 13 12:36:04 localhost kernel: Power Management received emergency overtemp signal. Going to sleep.
A possible solution to this problem can be found by removing kernel extensions.
Move (do not delete) the following extensions to a different location (/System/Libraries/Extensions) :
* IOI2CControllerPMU.kext
* IOI2CLM7x.kext
* AppleLM7x.kext
* Extensions.kextcache
* Extensions.mkext

Login to AirSet, and click on the tab of the group whose calendar you want to subscribe to. Click on the Calendar icon, and on the Calendar menu, click "Publish..." Under the "Public Calendar" section, click on the checkbox next to "Enable Public Viewing of The <group> Calendar" - this will start a Wizard that will let you turn on iCAL subscriptions for the group calendar. On one of the final screens, you'll have the option to "include the <Group> calendar in AirSet's public directory". Note that anyone who knows the URL for an iCAL feed can subscribe to it - putting the calendar in the public directory will make it easier for people to find your calendar if you want to share it, or you can keep your calendar private by not putting it in the public directory. When you click "Finish", you'll be taken back to the <group> Public Content Management Page. Under the "Public Calendar" section, you'll see a section that says "Public Link to The <group> Calendar". If you click on that link, you will see an iCAL button in the lower left corner. Click on the iCAL button, and click on the iCAL button next to the word "Subscribe", which should launch your iCAL viewer. Alternatively, you can right click on the button, select "Copy Shortcut" or "Copy Link Location" and enter the URL directly into your iCAL viewer (e.g. in Sunbird's "Subscribe to Remote Calendar..." dialog under the File menu).
