Bishop Museum handed over 83 priceless artifacts held by the museum for 95 years, to an ethnic Hawaiian organization (Hui Malama) claiming to represent all ethnic Hawaiians. Everyone understood that the clear intent of the Hui Malama organization was to re-bury the artifacts in a cave where they would never be seen again.
