        A major turning point in the Pacific War 
        Yamamoto’s plan was to destroy the US Pacific naval power. The Japanese would draw the US into Midway and then attack with larger force waiting on the sidelines
        But the Japanese code was decoded 
        Japan lost 4 aircrafts carriers; the US lost one
        This was Japan’s first decisive defeat
