La politique de lutte contre les violences faites aux femmes est récente et ambitieuse. Deux plans
d’action triennaux en 2005 et 2008 ont permis d’améliorer notre connaissance du phénomène, d’accompagner les
femmes victimes et leurs enfants dans leurs démarches d’accès au logement et d’autonomie financière et de
former les professionnels concernés.
Un dispositif juridique de protection des victimes a été particulièrement renforcé. La loi du 4 avril 2006
introduit la notion de respect dans les obligations du mariage, renforce la prévention et la répression des
violences au sein du couple ou commises contre les mineurs. La loi du 5 mars 2007 relative à la prévention de la
délinquance prévoit l'extension du suivi socio-judiciaire avec injonction de soins aux auteurs de violences
commises au sein du couple ou à l'encontre des mineurs. Enfin la loi du 9 juillet 2010, adoptée à l'unanimité par
les députés et les sénateurs, permet l’éviction du domicile du conjoint violent.
Le nouveau plan triennal 2011-2013 de lutte contre les violences faites aux femmes, piloté par le ministère des
solidarités et de la cohésion sociale, témoigne que la lutte contre les violences faites aux femmes reste une
préoccupation majeure du Gouvernement.
