• Michel Calmejane a trouvé un nouveau poste au sein de l’opérateur nordiste OVH. Il va s’occuper des ventes au niveau mondial.
• OVH prévoit un plan d’ouverture de 12 nouveaux datacenters (s’ajoutant aux 17 déjà opérationnels) dans les 18 prochains mois.
• Une accélération notable par rapport au plan dévoilé en décembre dernier, lors de la levée de fonds de 267 millions d’euros.
• L’Allemagne, la Pologne, la Grande-Bretagne, les pays nordiques, les Etats-Unis figurent parmi les pays ciblés.

• The total size of the public cloud market will grow from $25.5 billion in 2011 to $159.3 billion in 2020.
• The market for virtual private cloud solutions will grow from $7.5 billion in 2011 to $66.4 billion in 2020.
• The market for private cloud solutions will grow from $7.8 billion in 2011 to $15.9 billion in 2020.
• While the successes of early leaders have prompted many other providers to offer IaaS solutions, Forrester feels that this market will reach a peak of $5.9 billion in global revenues in 2014 and then enter a period of significant commoditization, price deterioration, and margin pressure.

• The market is not one-dimensional and is maturing at different levels and serves different groups within the enterprise.
• As the report suggests, cloud value propositions are compelling to individual end users, corporate buyers, and tech providers such as independent software vendors (ISVs). As a result, the benefits of cloud computing range from personal productivity to operational flexibility to cost savings.

• Brussels – June 22, 2011 – SITA, the air transport industry IT specialist, and Orange Business Services, the leading global integrated communications service provider for businesses, have agreed to jointly build a global, high performance, managed cloud computing infrastructure. Each partner will use this infrastructure to deliver its cloud services portfolio to its markets with added global reach, reliability and minimum latency.
• The cloud computing infrastructure will be based on six seamlessly interconnected Tier III+ and Tier IV data centers in five continents, in Atlanta, Frankfurt, Johannesburg, Singapore, Hong Kong and Sydney.
• Each data center will cover its respective region and will be interconnected via Orange’s high-speed MPLS network.
• Over this infrastructure, Orange Business Services and SITA will offer their individual portfolio of cloud computing services, encompassing infrastructure as-a-service, platform as-a-service, desktop as-a-service, and software as-a-service.
• Both Orange Business Services and SITA will continue to own the service relationships with their end customers.
• Rollout of the infrastructure has already started with the data centers of Atlanta, Frankfurt and Singapore being fully operational in Q1 2012 and all six data centers in Q3 2012.

• Apple designed its iCloud service to work as if it were invisible.
• Snap a photo on your iPhone and it pops up on your Mac or Windows PC. Edit a document in the Pages app on a Mac, and that same edit appears on the Pages app on your iPhone. Buy a song on iTunes on your Mac, and on your iPhone you can re-download it; same with e-books you buy through iBooks.
• Additionally, iCloud enables automatic wireless backups for iOS devices.
• Amazon
• You put files in there, and they’re online. You can access the files from any device that supports Flash.
• Amazon’s Cloud Drive is as straightforward as a cloud service gets: It’s just an online storage locker.
• (That means Cloud Drive is useless for any iPhone or iPad customer, since the devices do not support Flash.)
• Google
• Google’s “cloud” suite can be confusing: There’s no one-stop destination that hosts all your media. You have to go to Picasa to deal with your photos, Gmail for your e-mail, Music Beta for online music storage and Google Docs for your documents.

• According to Gartner, the market for cloud service brokerage will prove to the largest single revenue earner in the cloud computing business by 2015.
