Gregory Myers, director of private sector engagement at Cloudburst Group and former division chief for the Land Tenure and Property Rights Division at the U.S. Agency for International Development, calls for the implementation of existing guidelines promoting responsible investment in agriculture. According to the author, the promotion of multistakeholder fora, private and public sector engagement, and monitoring of existing projects by civil society should be strongly encouraged.
The GFP is a GIZ/BMZ-sponsored initiative, aiming to provide investors with financial incentives to engage in responsible investment in agriculture. Compliance with the Principles for Responsible Agricultural Investment (PRAI) are a mandatory prerequisite for participation in the project. This paper provides an overview over the functioning of the partnership.
