This is the tutorial for APA 6th edition. The user can choose the basic or the “I know some” option. This would allow me to have participants to do the basic (I am new to APA) tutorial and get a basic understanding prior to the workshop. There are interactive quizzes to assist with this as well. This would also be a good site to use with student participants to gauge their understanding of APA. This would allow for retraining or accelerated training based on student knowledge.

This is an overview of APA. The use of this site is a basic overview. It will give the participants a chance to look at the basics prior to the presentation. It will also show the participants the basic of research style. This can help them with the basic concepts of what are needed for a research paper. This site also has links to even more basic tutorials and help sheets on APA style. There are no interactive quizzes. This is a good site for pre-training as well as retraining.

This is a good site for the most basic graphic organizers to the more difficult organizers. There are also a variety of organizers on this site. In some cases, I could use these as organizers for the material in the presentation, offer the organizers as tools for the participants to use to note take, and to use to organize their information throughout the presentation. More importantly, these can be used to also help teach research strategies when participants take the training materials to the classroom.

This site has basic graphic organizers. There are also descriptions of each organizers and how to use it most effectively. For the multimedia presentation, I would use this to help give alternatives for presenting the information. This would be a good tool to share with participants for their use as well.

This Web 2.0 tool is a pseudo-moving making tool using JPEG slides to make videos. This tool will come in handy in two respects. The first to make promo videos advertising the presentation. This will give possible attendees the chance to see what the presentations will entail. This would also be a good reminder since the workshop is split into five different presentations. The second way that this tool can be used is basic how to videos. Because the graphics move a little fast on this tool, the how to videos will have to be very brief and taks specific. Jing or Vimeo might be better options for how to videos.

This is the site to download the free version of Jing. You can also purchase the professional version. This tool will be used to create how to videos and real time screen sharing. When learners see step by step processes in real time, it helps to reinforce the concepts and increases memory. These videos can also be shared via HTML and as downloads. Because the HTML codes are easy (cut and paste) and the loading of the presentation (click play), learners will not have to have high tech skills to access the videos and they have the option to save them and revisit them.

This site will allow me to create quizzes for assessment. Because there are a variety of tools on the site, I can choose from multiple choice, true false, etc. This will allows me to use a variety of assessment tools. Theses quizzes can also be shared with participants to use in their classrooms. I would create quizzes both in regards to APA and in regards to the topic if each workshop.

This is an online site to design surveys. I can use this to gauge what participants are learning and what questions they may have after each module. I would also use it as a tool to critique the whole workshop. This site would give me a chance to evaluate the material as well as the participant’s knowledge acquisition.
