You have to join for full benefits, but it provides some good resources.
From the National History Education Clearinghouse
"Provides educators and students with strategies, content, and activities that can enhance and improve students' skills in a variety of curricular areas."
Great resource from NSF. Online learning modules allow students to work on a wide variety of projects. They can examine controversial issues through inquiry and debate, and propose solutions to problems. A very useful tool.
From the highly regarded Annenberg Foundation. Professional development and classroom media and telecommunications resources. Great lessons and interactives.
This gateway for environmental educational resources is invaluable. The "Getting Started with DLESE" ink on the left side of the homepage is a great intro to how to get the best out of this comprehensive website. You can browse their resources by subject first, then by grade level, resource type, or standards. An indispensable teaching resource for "Living Earth."
I hadn't heard of Peter Pappas. Have you? it's not the most intuitive or well-designed website, but think he brings a lot to the table- for free.
Good resource for teachers who want to explore current events, and other topics (you'd be surprised- e.g., type "allusion" into the search bar).
From the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). Dedicated to the professional development of math teachers. You will find resources aligned with national standards. Part of the Verizon Thinkfinity program (see "General").
Good selection of resources to use for testing evaluation skills. There is a useful page on how to evaluate Wikipedia articles for credibility. Wikipedia articles should not, as rule, be used to cite evidence for your research. They are however, very useful for their bibliographies, which you can use to find other, more authoritative sources.
Apply the CRAAP test to any resource you are considering using for a research project, or if you simply want your views or opinions taken seriously.
