Shanahan's site addresses close reading, common core vs Daily 5, common core vs guided reading; he makes a point for having students at 85% accuracy reading in those books in order to tackle harder texts; he suggests that there is no evidence that guided reading works and that students benefit from more instruction from the teacher; he addresses learning activities vs learning outcomes and that Daily 5 can be activities that don't necessarily accomplish any of the objectives/standards
This blog has information about setting up classroom library by the author's last name: She does this for all of the books including non-fiction. She makes a good point by stating that this way the students are perusing through all of the books and not just certain ones.
