Halifax Chronicle Herald – Tuesday, December 13, 1977 – 21, of Merigomish died Sunday following a car accident in Ontario. Born in New Glasgow she was the daughter of Thelma (Murdock) and the late Stewart Duggan. She was employed in Fort McMurray, Ontario and was a member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church. Surviving besides her mother is a sister, Linda at home. The body will be at R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow after 3:30 p.m. today. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Rev. Kenneth MacLeod officiating with burial in Murray’s Point Cemetery.
Mrs. Elizabeth Duggan , Lower Barney's River, Pictou Co., - 85, died Wednesday in Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Merigomish she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Elizabeth Ann (MacNaughton) Stewart. She was a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Merigomish and St. Paul's Ladies Guild. Surviving are son Robert , Scarborough, Ontario; four daughters, Irene (Mrs. Ted Finney) Burnaby, B.C.; Winnifred (Mrs. Edward Jackson) Cambridge, Ontario; Clara (Mrs. Earl Cornell) Warren, Michigan; Betty (Mrs. Ron Lacey) Oakville, Ontario and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband, Charles; 3 sons, John William, Stuart and Henry; two sisters and four brothers predeceased her. The body is at R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Merigomish with burial in Murray's Point Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the building fund of St. Paul's Church.
