Each passing week seems to bring new or revamped initiatives aimed at taming the U.S. economic situation and keeping track of where the money is going becomes more and more complex. To keep things straight, the Milken Institute has created an ongoing tracking system of programs and associated obligated or already-dispersed funding. The chart below is a listing of the programs and the totals of allocated and/or dispersed funds for each. Click through to see the in-depth breakdown of the program.
Our methodology, which includes adjusting for potentially double-counted funding, shows a currently established upper limit of funds provided and/or costs of the programs. This is the best-estimate, maximum version of all programs and sources. Also, note that we use the estimated potential cost for some programs, when the actual number is readily available from government sources.
