- Hm. I'd put the "Quick Links" at the top and maybe combine the "what's new" with the blog stuff. RefChat is new? Really? At *Harvard*??

- Huh. this really looks like a level three page, is it actually the home page? At least it has the contact information there and a minimal site navigation, but there is very little "identity" to this page and I don't get the impression that they're really actively seeking to engage their users.
  
  They must be stuck with some kind of content management system, since the entires site is behaving like a blog, with the "subpages" coming up the way they do. No sign of entries for student or faculty services - E Barney on 2008-10-06

- Interesting - it almsot looks like the library website is stuck inside the general school website's frame or soemthing. That makes it a little hard to read, though the basic setup is ok and I kinda like the welcome message. I'd format it a little differently, but it is a heckuva lot more engaging than the Standford site.

- It's still a little clunky, sort of boxy in ways that don't take advantage of the space very well. I don't really understand the site navigation tabs compared to the detail of the links on the home page, but the links on the home page look useful and I do like the "What's New @ The Library" section, evne if the @ symbol is kind of cliche. The data does seem to be up to date and interesting, so that's good. - E Barney on 2008-10-06
- Hm. They really haven't configured this page for Firefox very well - the unordered list in their "What's New" box is bleeding out. They do have chat reference, under the "Ask a Librarian" link at the bottom of the page, though they do it individually and not everyone remembers to log in. - E Barney on 2009-01-12

- Yikes! 6 different colors, the text is really small and not very readable with those background colors. And what's with the blog looking like part of the site navigation? That looks really stupid with blog titles like "Bye for now" listed top. Hm. Not very effective use of the graphic, either, just sticking it at the bottom there to take up space with the text being so small and not scaling very well. - E Barney on 2008-10-06
- WOW is that a tiny search box... I do like having those databases right there at the top, though.

- I definitely like a lot of things about their website - the navigation and style are great, with very nice minimal, useful approaches to things like featured resources, hours, breadcrumbs, etc. I'm a fan.

- A really nice, very professional looking site with clear navigation and a good use of some fairly large graphics. But I'm finding it kind of funny that several of the new books and videos are for children and most of the photos that cycle on the front page seem to highlight the skin tone of their students because the color palette is so peachy.
  
  The photo graphic for "ask a librarian" is interesting... I don't know if we could get the staff to agree to that at all, but it might be worth a try. :) - E Barney on 2008-10-06

- Nice layout, though the text looks a little cramped. I wonder if that's a FF thing? Lots of colors, but the shades make it work pretty well. I'm not so sure about the "Who We Are / What We Have / What We Do" navigation - that's natural, but doesn't seem as user-focused. - E Barney on 2008-07-25

I'm working on a website redesign, especially with our faculty services and student services information, so I figured I'd do a quick survey of "peer" websites using diigo & US News rankings. What fun!
