Cloud users have a variety of options for accessing content as well as the option of using any number of apps to create content, e.g. documents, spreadsheets, and presentations just to name a few. Many of the available apps in the iTunes store and Google Play even mimic computer application programs that most of us use on a daily basis and CloudOn is one such app.

In addition to making your life a lot easier, Dropbox can be a great teaching/learning tool – and this is why I introduce it to my students. The first thing to do is to create a sharing folder for each class you teach so you can make information available to your students (PowerPoints, hand-outs, reading assignments, whatever).
You can call this folder anything. For my history classes, I usually use the word “share” and create folders with names like “Ancient History Share.” When you go to your Dropbox page on the web, this screenshot gives you some idea of what you will see.

You can upload attachments to your notes in Evernote to keep documents organized with the notes they go with. If you want to make sure that attached files are kept up to date, you can just modify them from Evernote. Simply right-click on the attached file in Evernote, choose “open with” and the software that you want to use, make the changes and then hit “save” and Evernote will automatically be updated with the latest version of the file. This works for images, PDFs, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and more.
