• Encounter with a Mara
• Mikk of Estonia knew something was wrong when he looked down and discovered he was floating around his house
• “I knew my body was asleep,” he said. “It was night time but I could see in the dark.”
• 
   Mikk often slipped into a lucid dream state, but this time he traveled outside his body – and encountered something terrifying.
• “Some bad entity was around my house and my spirit fled,” Mikk said.
• “I was hovering along the main road from my house, away from the entity who was unpleasant.”
• Turning back to see if the dark entity was following him, Mikk looked into the face of horror.
• “I passed a house where a neighbor had died of cancer several months ago and with it I passed a shadow of a person,” he said. “It was standing in front of the neighbor’s house and as I sensed it, it was the most awful feeling. It was an unholy terror.”
• Mikk stared in horror at the entity that simply stood at the neighbor’s house, seeming not to notice Mikk at all. However, Mikk got close enough to feel it.
• 
   “I past by its field, I think, and it was horrible,” Mikk said. “It wasn't evil; it was just inhuman, incompatible with the human mind.”
• Mikk, an atheist, isn’t sure why he did this, but he recited the Lord’s Prayer and made the sign of the cross. Then he was back in his room.
• “I heard a loud bang, like a car had hit our house or a piano had been dropped into our living room,” he said. “I was awake in a split second and stared into darkness listening. No one in the house had heard it. The sound came from my head.”
• The event had ended, but Mikk wanted to know what he had seen.
• “I asked a woman I know about it,” he said. “Her grandmother was a healer or seer in the older community here in Estonia. She said, ‘oh yeah, my grandmother told me about those things, they're called the maras.’”
• A mara, the woman said, is a negative energy a person who hates or envies someone sends to that person either intentionally, or subconsciously. The mara then slowly drains the person’s happiness because the one who conjured it wants the target to be miserable.
• “When I asked how to get rid of the thing she said it doesn't matter if you are religious, just say the Lord's Prayer,” Mikk said. “You have to mean it when you say it.”
• That’s the key – conviction. When confronted by a dark spiritual being, she said you have to banish it with authority.
• “When the shadow attacks or is menacing you are likely to be afraid and you can't get that much conviction or will power behind what you say so the Lord's Prayer is a healthy alternative,” Mikk said. “It almost doesn't have religious connotations in that context.”
• Mikk only recited the first few lines of the Lord’s Prayer, but it seemed to work for him.
• “I don't know the rest from heart but I’m planning to print it out and hang it next to my bed,” he said. “Also making the sign of the cross was that way. It was some sort of survivalist reflex. It felt like the right thing to do.”
• Although this experience hasn’t changed Mikk’s spiritual beliefs, he thinks negative entities exist.
• “To be honest, I’ve done lots of mushrooms and met with various entities there and I never made up my mind if they were hallucinations or something that the drug enables you to interact with,” he said.
• “If you are afraid, ignorant, negative, etc., the entities can get to you like rats can get into a shabby household and nest there.
• The evil ones are so bad they don't resemble humanity in any form except shape. They invoke such primal terror you can only scream like a caveman would.”

• Chupacabra Found in Texas, Leaving Bigfoot as the Ultimate Cryptid

• A Chupacabra was found in Helotes, Texas and the video evidence shows a creature only thought to exist in children's nightmares or as a ghost tale told by the campfire.
• Although scientists have yet to confirm an entirely new, previously unknown species, the pictures of the animal (called "goat sucker" in Mexico) and another found in Stockdale, TX leave little doubt that the bloodsucking creature, whispered about for decades, is in fact real.
• The video below is a news report from a local station that shows the horrific creature, in rigor mortis, displaying the chilling anomalies that scientists have scoffed at for years.
• The unusually long fangs, the hairless skin, and, most disturbing, the opposable thumbs.
• Until now there have been no animals discovered, other than primates, which have that distinguishing feature.
• The find, if confirmed, leaves Bigfoot as the remaining mythical creature which somehow eludes detection, despite thousands of sightings and a mountain of grainy, badly filmed videos of the beast.

• Sanger Paranormal's Face Print: Not It's 1st Bigfoot Evidence Claim to Fame
• The following is Lee Speigel's interview with Jeffrey Gonzalez of Sanger Paranormal in reference to the new Bigfoot evidence announcement. The images were briefly posted then removed from the Sanger Paranormal website.
• Further down, I have posted another media advisory made by Sanger Paranormal in reference to a Bigfoot evidence claim on July 6, 2009:
• AOL - by Lee Speigel - California Bigfoot investigators were shocked over Memorial Day weekend when they found strange markings and hair on their pickup truck windows.
• Now, they're hoping DNA tests will prove once and for all the existence of the legendary man-beast.
• "On the passenger side window, when I first saw it, I almost threw up," said Jeffrey Gonzalez, an AT&T electronics technician and founder of the Sanger Paranormal Society.
• Gonzalez and several others were in California's Sierra National Forest searching for evidence to confirm the reality of the creature. When it started to snow at their campsite, they were forced to leave two of their vehicles behind.
• "Two days later, we came back to pick up our vehicles and that's when we found the impressions," Gonzalez told AOL Weird News, recalling what he and his companions noticed on the passenger window.
• "Apparently, the creature was looking in the window and left behind dirt and oil on it, leaving such an awesome picture, you can see the nose, the eye, the hair all over the face and the shoulders -- it's creepy, and it's not a bear."
• Gonzalez and his friends -- including a former science teacher and a correctional officer -- also found a 12-inch footprint at the site.
• They concluded their hairy intruder wasn't a bear because none of the four ice chests that were filled with food on the back of Gonzalez's truck had been touched.
• But it wasn't just the passenger side window that presented a surprise -- the driver's side of the truck showed the imprint of a much larger creature, strongly suggesting there were two unexplained visitors to the campsite.
• "An impression was left of a nose, eyes and lips, but they were extremely large," Gonzalez said. "The lips measured about 6 inches long. You can see that the whole face was full of hair, so when it leaned up against the window, you can see the depth of the eye socket in the glass.
• "I've shown people -- non-believers -- this photograph and this totally freaked them out."
• 
   After Gonzalez returned home that day, he called a forensic expert to take DNA samples of the fur or hair that was left around the window impressions.
• "One of the cautions I have about finding a nose print or anything on the side of a car is that it could be a homeless person, resulting in people letting their imaginations go wild," suggested Loren Coleman, owner of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine.

• "Of course, if you take a DNA sample and it comes back near-human or primate, then it would match both Bigfoot and a homeless person," Coleman told AOL.
• But what about the addition of the large footprint near the truck where the window impressions were made?
• "A 12-inch footprint is not too exciting, because it could be a human or bears imprinting on top of each other," Coleman speculated.
• "In this case, it might not have been a homeless person, but in wilderness areas, there are other hikers and somebody would've naturally put their nose up to the window to look inside the car."
• Gonzalez is holding a news conference on June 23 at the Piccadilly Inn in Fresno, Calif.
• I'll be presenting video of both windows, pictures and live testimony from the people who shared the event with me. We will also have a forensic expert who took DNA samples," he said.
• Coleman, a long-time investigator of Bigfoot and other legendary creatures that come under the category of cryptozoology, is cautious about the outcome of this kind of news.
   
   "You know, I'd be a fool if I didn't say that I'm hoping there's definitive evidence of Bigfoot found. I hope somebody will turn over any evidence to some scientists who could then hold a news conference at a university.
   
   "Then people won't doubt what's going on."

• LOCATION DETAILS: Once you get out of Green, it its before you get to Malboro on the backside of the airport before you get to 44.

• OBSERVED: On October 22, 2010, I was driving home from work, it was approximately 8 pm at night, and I was driving on a country road out behind canton airport when my headlights hit something huge standing at the side of the road.
• .my mind couldnt make sense of what it was, all I knew was the hair stood up on the back of my neck and I felt the need to get past this thing very fast..so I sped up
• and it was just standing...right at the edge on the line at the side of the road towering...it wasnt moving
• .yet there was some sort of movement like the wind blowing something.
• .I was so terrified that as soon as I got past it..I checked my rearview mirror and whatever it was was gone
• .the next morning in the light..I checked the whole area on my way past to work and there were no trees, as was suggested by friends..nothing but farm fields and a low hedgerow
• .I know without a doubt what this was..this was Stark County, Ohio
• .It was as if this thing was just watching
• I know this isnt funny but it reminded me of the snuffaluffagus on sesame street..thats how huge it appeared
• .I called my daughter right away and had her talk to me until I could calm down. Ive had others say..it could have been a cow..or a tree..and I say..does a cow stand upright alongside the road just chilling and watching...and how does a tree move from a field onto the edge of the roadway?
• OTHER WITNESSES: Im not sure if anyone else had seen it, all I know was I kept watching behind me to see if any other cars came behind..but nothing...
• OTHER STORIES: Ive grown up hearing stories like this but never expected to see anything like this..and especially just chillin by the side of the road..like it was not afraid of my car..
• TIME AND CONDITIONS: 8 pm, it was dark, and dry, and that is why when my headlights hit it..I saw it..
• ENVIRONMENT: It was a farming area, residential where the homes are not close together...and this thing was standing by the side of the road.
• Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Brad Bacon:
• I spoke with the witness in a telephone interview and can include the following information.
• The witness travels Greensburg Road for her daily commute and is very familiar with everything along her route.
• While Greensburg road does travel just north of the Akron/Canton Regional Airport, her incident occurred further east in a more rural area, west of Alliance, OH.
• The witness was traveling east on Greensburg en route to her residence when her headlights illuminated the figure standing just off the side of the road. She instinctively slowed down.
• The figure was to her right on the south side of the road.
• The witness said, "It looked like a big, huge, giant person." "It had a head, big arms and lots of hair." The witness also said, "I felt like it was staring at me."
• The witness added that she was overcome with a feeling of she had to get past this thing so she sped up and moved on. After she was clear, the witness said she became very emotional and had to find a spot that she could pull over to call her daughter and recount what she had just experienced.
• The witness is a lifelong resident of the area and has spent the last 25 years in her current residence. I found her to be credible and sincere in her accounts.
• Though it was dark and her encounter brief she is convinced she saw a Bigfoot and says she never wants to see another one.

• Man witnesses the sillouette of a tall creature while boiling sap near Sault Ste. Marie

  LOCATION DETAILS: It was by a new road they put in.

  NEAREST TOWN: Sugar Island
• I went behind a shed, it was 1:30 AM with 3/4 of a moon.
• OBSERVED: I was sitting by the fire, boiling sap from maple trees.
• I looked to the east toward the water and seen a tall shadow walk by about 7' tall walking down a new gravel road they had put in.
• I watched this shadow for about 30 seconds until it disappeared into the darkness.
• When it walked it wobbled from side to side moving real slow.
• I thought it was very unusual not to hear any noise when I saw the thing walking.
• ALSO NOTICED: There was a sweet smell in the air from the maple syrup cooking.
• OTHER WITNESSES: No. They were cooking maple syrup, over by the fire.
• OTHER STORIES: None.
• ENVIRONMENT: Lots of maple trees around close to the water's edge. Pretty thick cover close to swampy area.
• Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator T. L. Kimball:
• On this early morning, the witness observed the silhouette of a creature approximately seven feet tall. The creature passed within fifteen feet of the witness.
• The trail along which it walked had a dense tree cover and heads into a swamp. There would have been few leaves present at that time, however.
• As witnessed, the creature's arms were proportionally longer than that of a human. The creature also seemed to have no neck. The silhouette was that of a tall, lanky creature. No facial features were ever observed.
  
• The creature was observed for thirty seconds as it walked along a trail and disappeared into a swamp.
• The gait exhibited by the creature was an odd, side-to-side movement.
• He seemed to think that the method of movement indicated that the feet might be pointed out from, rather than parallel to the direction of travel.
• The creature was hunched forward as it walked.
• The creature remained upright for the length of the encounter.
• The witness believed that the creature was attempting to walk in such a manner as to avoid making sound. The witness detected no sound as the creature walked by.
• After having spoken at length with the witness, I find the witness to be truthful, cooperative, and credible.

• OBSERVED: My dad and I had just got set up to start deer hunting. I had a ways to walk further south then he had to.
• I saw his flashlight bobbin in the woods to my right (south) as I headed to my blind.
• He got into position, kicked up something that smelled awful.
• This thing was crashing through the woods like a freight train. It was too loud to be a deer,as it crashed right by me in the dark, smelling awful.
• i didn't know what it was, but was frightened sitting there in the dark until it got light out.
• ALSO NOTICED: Smell was awful that morning I was hunting with my dad. Like a dog that rolled in something bad. Real crisp, cool morning and I could hear and smell alot. Very noticeable.
• OTHER STORIES: The next fall, during small game season, my friend and I were hunting grouse in the same area when we happened upon a track near the road that was much larger than my size 12 boots.
• We looked for more and located some more that crossed the road towards the Little Manistee River.
• In this area, there had been some unsusal sightings and sounds by many fly fisherman, namely seeing large black objects watching them then moving away
• generally interpreted as black bear. Not unlikely, but not on two feet.
• Well, that was around 1983-84. In 1985, I was working with a guy at the Filer City Mill of Packaging Corporation of America who confirmed a similar sighting near that area.

• Daylight sighting of a white creature while walking near Thompsonville

• OBSERVED: I was walking in the woods down a two track by Thompsonville in the early spring morning
• On these early morning walks I often scare up deer and occationally a bear so when I heard the noises of something running in the woods I expected to see some such animal.
• Instead I saw what looked to me like a large man dressed in white running at an incredible speed. He was about 50 yards away and I tracked him for some distance.
• I was amazed at how he ran so fast through the dense undergrowth. He had to have long legs to be able to traverse the fallen trees and swampy areas.
• The next day I was walking in that same area and discovered tracks that confirmed to me it was not a man I had seen.
• They were quite large - about 18 inches or so. I could only see three toe prints thought there may have been more that didnt inprint and what may have been claws or long toenails that left a mark.
• The distance between them was about three of my strides long.
• My neighbor who lives in that area has reported to me on a number of occasions that he has seen many evidences of what he firgured could only be big foot.
• Marks on the trees and stolen food supplies that the situations to him indicated it was not a bear. I had discounted the validity of his stories until I was a witness.
• OTHER STORIES: Yes. My husband saw a similar creature approximately 1978. He will make his own report.
• My neighbor has many evidences of something there which I cannot accurately report. he is very private and not trusting so any attempt to contact him would have to be done with tact and respect.
• TIME AND CONDITIONS: cool but clear. early morning approximatly 7:30 or 8. Snow was still hanging on in many places with patches of muddy and dry ground
• ENVIRONMENT: The whole area is a swamp which varies its level of wetness depending on the season. At this time of year it was wet with a little snow still hanging on.
• Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Don Peer:
• I spoke to the witness by phone. She now lives in Utah, but related the experience in detail, as she remembered the incident clearly
• She was walking a two-track in a wooded, swampy area and first heard, then saw the animal rapidly moving away from her.
• She said at first she thought it was running, but later felt that it was walking rapidly, although either way, it was moving quickly
• She did find two tracks, which were approximately eight to ten feet apart, which would indicate the animal was moving rapidly.
  
• She could only make out three toes on the tracks, but stated there could have been more toes that did not show up on the ground.
• She estimated the tracks were around eighteen inches in length. She stated the color of the animal was a dirty white color.
• The witness had a neighbor at the time that was experiencing some strange incidents at his house, which is very near the location of her sighting.
• Her neighbor has something, or someone, break into a storage shed he owned and stole some food items he had stored inside.
• He mentioned something about bigfoot being involved to the witness, and thought he was imagining things until she had her encounter.

• Hunters endure hour-long, intimidation behavior by unseen aggressor(s)

  LOCATION DETAILS: Huron National Forest in the Hayes Tower area, Beaver Pond 1/4 mile away.

  NEAREST TOWN: Barton City

  NEAREST ROAD: south of highway 72
• OBSERVED: Myself and several others were at our deer hunting campsite, we had used the same spot for years.
• While we were sitting at our campfire, we heard this mournful wail just outside the light of the campfire behind one of the campers. Next there was what sounded like a low growl then a sort of howl yelping sound,
• we all went for flashlights and stopped dead in our tracks when we heard the sounds of trees being snapped and branches breaking.
• We changed from flashlights to rifles as the growling increased.
• We stood there looking out into the dark for what seemed like 20 min or so then the sound started moving away deeper into the woods.
• At daybreak we ventured out towards where the sounds were coming from and found several small trees snapped and bushes uprooted. There were what could have been footprints but the ground was so tore up, it was impossible to tell what kind they were.
• Later that morning a friend of mine was out scouting for a place to put his blind and he came across a huge mound of earth that looked as though it was just piled there.
• When we got to him he was pointing his rifle towards some thickets of tag alder saying that when he approached the huge pile of sand and earth he heard the same sounds that we had heard the night before coming from that direction.
• To make a long story short we contacted the DNR in Harrisvile and an officer came out upon examining the dirt mound several mutilated deer and some wild blackberry bushes were buried in it.
• Again the ground was tore up so bad that no distinguishing footprints were apparent. The DNR officer said that what we had in the area was most likely a big bear.
• TIME AND CONDITIONS: 9:30 pm, cloudy, cold some snow flurries.
• ENVIRONMENT: National Forest.

• Follow-up investigation report:

   

   

  This report was originally submitted to the Texas Bigfoot Research Center.
• I talked to the witness and found him to be credible. He is a “two-tour Vietnam veteran” and in his own words he does “not scare easily.”
• The witness described the incident as occurring in a remotely forested region of Michigan, not more than 12 miles from Lake Huron.
• The serenity of the evening was abruptly cut short by what the witness described as a “god-awful sound” originating from “just beyond the firelight” at an estimated distance of 20 – 25 yards from the tents.
• The witness further described the sound as a “scream” beginning in an extremely high pitch, and modulating downward in tone to a low growling, moaning sound.
• The sound was extremely loud and boisterous and with it came the unmistakable sounds of a “bunch of trees being snapped”.
• The witness stated that the “screams” persisted along with the shaking of branches and snapping of trees for approximately one hour. In all, the number of screams that the witness remembered totaled perhaps five. The witness remembered that it was difficult to determine whether or not the hunters had more than one tormentor, but that “it could have been two or more.”
• At one point during the incident, the hunters went to their vehicles that were parked just outside their tents and retrieved their weapons.
• The witness stated that he did not actually feel as though he was in a life or death situation (his weapon was a .300 magnum), but he and his hunting partners felt sure that "something didn’t want us there.”
• After the screams and the tree-breaking, branch-shaking noises trailed off deeper into the forest, the witness and his party retired back to their tents, and the remainder of the evening was uneventful.
• The next day, the hunters embarked out into the wooded area where the previous evening’s tirade had taken place, and noted numerous trees broken “four to five feet up.”
• The trees were no less than “four inches in diameter.”
• The witness described the ground as being “torn up,” like something had “kicked and jumped around.” No tracks were discernable but it was obvious to the hunters that “something was mad.”
• Later, one of the witness’s hunting partners found a suspicious “mound” of earth as he was attempting to find a place from which to hunt.
• The “mound” appeared to be approximately “14 feet in diameter” and “two to three feet high.”
• The hunters were quite disturbed by their find and their experience and turned to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
• The mound was found to contain in it several deer carcasses that had been eviscerated, and had had the legs “ripped off.”
• The hunters thought that the deer carcass wounds were not the result of cutting or chewing, but the result of “tearing.”
• The DNR representative called the mound a probable “bear stash.”
• In summation, although the occurrence seems strange and surreal to most who are not accustomed to investigating bigfoot sightings, to those of us who talk to witnesses day in and day out, the occurrence falls within expected parameters of bigfoot intimidation behavior.
• I must admit that I am in disagreement with the DNR representative’s assessment of the situation.
• Although I did not have the privilege of inspecting the area, I cannot attribute any of the behavior encountered to bear. Nor can I attribute the deer carcass cache to bear. I have spoken with several bear experts and wildlife biologists in the BFRO and they also failed to see the connection.

• My girlfriend and I had stopped the car to talk before I dropped her off from our date.
• This happened when I lived in Lufkin. I was in high-school at the time.
• We were on a newly cleared roadway that extended from her subdivision back into a wooded area.
• The roadbed was white sand, and reflected brightly under a full moon. It was an unusually bright night
• While we were talking, I got a strange feeling and turned to look out my car window.
• About six feet away, a huge man-shaped figure was squatting down to look in my window
• silhouette was completely black, and outlined very clearly against the roadbed and the underbrush on the other side of the road.
• The moon was about 60-degrees up from the horizon and located to the rear of my car, so it shone really brightly into the clearing.
• The “creature” had a rounded head, which sloped down into its shoulders - as if it had no neck.
• Its eyes were large and almond-shaped - easy to see, because they glowed in the dark! They glowed white.
• I believe that this was eye-shine from the reflection of the moon on my white car.
• The shoulders were extremely wide, about 36-40 inches across.
• I turned around to look at my girlfriend, and when her eyes met mine, she started screaming in a panic. I started up the car and sped off
• I dropped her at her parents' house, made sure she was OK, then went to round up some friends to go back and look for the creature. (One of these friends had seen one of these creatures a few years earlier, as it turned out.)
• We parked on the road, and listened to every dog on Earth bark and howl (the area was less than a half-mile from a subdivision, so there were plenty of dogs within ear-shot). We didn't see the creature.
• The next day, we returned with rifles and hunted it in the woods. I found a few faint tracks that weren't clear.
• I also found three cattle carcasses in a pasture behind the woods. They had been dead for at least a month - badly decomposed. I don't know if there was a connection to the creature or not, but I'm sparing no detail.
• The next day, I returned again with one friend. We were unarmed. We searched the woods again, and gave up the search after a few hours
• As we left the woods and stepped back onto the sand road, I got that feeling again. I turned around and saw the creature following us.
• The sun was going down (about 10 degrees above the horizon, and behind the trees), and was about 10 degrees to the left of the thing's silhouette.
• I saw its shape very clearly. Its shoulders were as high as the yaupon underbrush, which I later measured to be 6-1/2 feet tall. I estimate that the creature was 8 feet tall
• As we looked at it, it was swaying from side to side.
• Again, the head sloped up from the shoulders without a neck. Standing up, the creature looked broad-shouldered but thinner than the first time I saw it.
• We ran to my car, and drove away.
• My girlfriend's house bordered the woods that lay between that road and her subdivision.
• She claimed to see the creature behind her house afterwards. I believed her, but I didn't see these later events personally, so I won't try to describe them.
• Seeing one these things can get under your skin. I have zero interest in the "unusual."
• In fact, I'm a pretty level-headed Christian.
• But I've never gotten this creature completely out of my mind, especially when I'm hunting in the woods, and the sun is going down.
• Some of comments I see on your guest book suggest that a lot of people think these things are interesting, and would be fun to see. I wouldn't advise it. I never want to see one again, ever.

• Sounds

   

  No sound. It was as quiet as a ghost, even when following us through underbrush. Hard to believe, but true.
• Additional Observations
• I also heard stories about "wildmen" throughout my childhood. The stories were fairly common in Angelina County and surrounding areas back in the 50s and 60s. Most people wouldn't go into much detail about them though.
• Peavy Switch always seemed to have some "Monster" legend associated with it.

  9pm - Cleared road through tall pine forest. There was (and is) a large pasture with a large hill behind the woods that the creature came out of. From that, a power line clearing runs down to a railroad clearing, which runs down into the Neches bottoms. I think that is the mostly likely travel route this thing could have taken from the deep woods. There was a full moon, clear sky.

• This investigation was conducted as a result of incidents that allegedly occurred in Angelina County, Texas, in October 1968.
• This report was originally submitted to us anonymously on October 19, 2002. We do nothing with incident reports that have no witness information, so the report went into an indeterminate stasis.
• The witness resubmitted the report a second time with contact information because he was impressed that our website did nothing with incident reports from anonymous sources.
• The witness, a male of approximately 50 years in age, has recently become more interested in the subject of bigfoot.
• As a result, I was able to contact and interview the witness on 26 August 2003.
• He is into astronomy and has reconstructed his sighting events from researching the moon phase. He recalled that there was a full moon on the night of the incident and it was a Friday night. He then was able to pinpoint the exact date of the incident.
• While he no longer lives in Lufkin, the witness is an avid hunter and belongs to a hunting club adjoining Toledo Bend Reservoir
• He has had a number of odd experiences while hunting that he could not explain.
• According to the witness, he and his girl friend were parked on what was at that time a dirt road opening up a new housing addition. That road and the area is now fully developed. All of the surrounding area is now developed with housing additions preventing any further likelihood of sightings in that area.
• The witness explained how after getting an odd feeling of being watched, he looked out the left window, and at that time saw a black man-like figure squatted down, looking at him through his car window. The witness’s girlfriend saw it at the same time and panicked. The witness immediately drove off and took the girlfriend home, where he had a very hard time explaining to her parents why she was so upset.
• The witness called on three of his friends to return with him to the area to look for the subject. The teens did not see the subject. They left for the night and returned the next day with their rifles again intending to hunt it down.
• They found a few faint tracks that were not clear. Further back in the woods, they found three dead cattle that had been dead for quite some time, judging from the decomposition. Finding nothing conclusive, the young men left.
• The next day the witness once again returned with one of his friends.
• After looking for a few hours they were leaving the area at sundown, when, in the witness’s words, he got “that feeling of being watched again.”
• The witness distinctly remembered looking back and seeing the same subject, following him and his friend, but staying at a distance.
• The witness described the subject as swaying from side to side as it stood and watched them.
• The witness said that it was clearly silhouetted by the setting sun and appeared to be about 8 feet tall. It appeared to have no neck.
• The witness could remember no sounds being made by the subject while it was following them. The witness remarked that had it not been for the "eerie feeling" of being watched they probably would not have looked back.
• I believe that the white glow of the subject’s eyes was caused by the moonlight reflection off the witness’s white car. The witness has done much work reconstructing the event since it happened 34 years ago. I was not able to interview any additional witnesses of these incidents.

• was hunting rabbits in the winter of 1979 with a friend in the Peavey Switch area. We had been walking the old road east of the Diboll cut off and had seen nothing. We loaded up in my truck and started riding the roads and shining lights looking for eye shine or rabbits in the road.
• We were coming up on a bend in the road I was shining across an old clearcut when my friend started screaming.
• I turned to see what he was looking at and saw what looked like a large man turning and going into the brush.
• We left the area as fast as the old truck would go and I pretty much gave up night hunting.

• This investigation was conducted as a result of an incident that allegedly occurred in the winter of 1979 in Angelina County, Texas just south of the small town of Hudson.
• I spoke to the witness at length on 1 December 2010.
• He told me that he was an extremely experienced outdoorsman, having spent countless nights and days out on the Neches River and had never heard or experienced anything at all that he considered unusual.
• But on this particular hunt, he and a friend were out rabbit-hunting
• near an abandoned cabin
• The area was not developed in 1979 and heavily wooded.
• The area in which they were hunting had always been very productive, but on this night they failed to bag any game.
• They decided to move on, as they were having no luck near the old cabin.
• The pair climbed into their truck and began slowly making their way down an old dirt road while shining their lights into the brush in the hopes of catching a glimpse of some rabbits.
• The witness was driving and looking out the driver's side window when he heard his friend start yelling. The witness turned and looked on the opposite side of the road and saw a large upright figure quickly stride into the woods.
• The witness gunned the engine and "got out of dodge" at that point.
• The witness's hunting partner related to him that he had been shining his spotlight into the brush, and it fell right on the face of a large, hair-covered animal that was squatting down just off the road, seemingly trying to hide from their vehicle.
• Once the light hit the subject, it stood up and quickly walked from the low brush near the side of the road into the thicker woods.
• The witness described the subject as very big and covered in long reddish-brown hair.
• He did not get a good look at its face as it had turned to walk away by the time he saw it. He did remember very clearly seeing the subject's arm and hand.
• The witness described the hand as very human-like, only larger.
• The witness related that his partner got a good look at its face. He told the witness the face was very much like that of a man and said its eyes widened greatly when he lit it up as if it were surprised.
• The witness said the subject might have made a "screech" or scream when it was lit up, but he could not be sure due to his partner's yells.
• The witness recalled a foul and pungent odor that manifested immediately upon the sighting and permeated the inside of his truck for the better part of a week afterward.
• It seems that Angelina County had a bit of a reputation as an area where "wild men" or "monsters" roamed from the 1950s through the 1970s
• TBRC report #01030016 documents another alleged sighting near Peavey Switch Road in October of 1968 of a squatting, hair-covered, bipedal animal.
• That witness made a statement in the report that the area had a lot of stories of this type associated with it.
• The witness with whom I spoke concurred and said that he had heard these same stories as a youth.
• He added that he had heard of another incident regarding "Callahan's Monster," a bigfoot-like creature, allegedly seen on the outskirts of Lufkin in the late 1960s.
• East Texas continues to be a source for reports of sightings of animals matching the description of the sasquatch to this day.
• In conclusion, I found the witness's account compelling and detected no sign of deception. He related the story in the calm manner but remains, even 31 years later, amazed by what he saw that night.

• I was deer hunting   one Saturday afternoon on a deer plot that was on the side of a nice size   pasture. I got in the woods about 3:00 and left around 6:00.
• We have a confirmed story of a local bigfoot sighting.
• A man encountered a large, threatening and possibly  bigfoot-like creature within 50 miles of Columbus, Alabama.
• The account happened two to three weeks ago at the BP Quick Stop  on Alabama Highway 165 in Fort Mitchell, Ala.
• I had been   sitting in my climbing stand for about an hour when I started to hear   some very soft muffled noises.
• The sounds became louder as if what was   making it was coming closer.
• The women who ran the store testified that a terrified  young man came in the minimart around 10:30 p.m. on a  Thursday and said he needed to call a game warden right away.  He looked to be about 18, and "he was petrified," one of the  women clerks said.
• There was a creature walking   along the edge of the woods, then it stepped out into the pasture and   just stood there for a while. As I struggled to get my binoculars out   of its case, it started to walk.
• I looked at it through the binoculars   and then it started making the noises again like its stomach was moving   out and in, out and in, like an elk bull when its squeals.
• The guy said that he and his companion,  a man in his late 30s or early 40s, had just fled from Rood  Creek Park, a small campground and boat landing across the  Chattahoochee River in Georgia, just south of Florence Marina.
• Fort Mitchell's a fair distance from Rood, but the guy said  the Quick Stop was the first open store they'd happened upon.
• Then I raised my gun   and watched it through the scope, trying to get even a better look. Finally   realized what I was witnessing I about fell out of the tree stand.
• He said they had been camped at Rood when his dog,  a yellow Labrador retriever, suddenly started making weird noises.  It wasn't like the dog was barking; it was more like the dog was  screaming or crying.
• So the witness went to check on the dog, and  when he did, he heard something big coming through the woods.
• The creature started   walking my way. It walked all the way across the pasture, choosing to   walk in the dips and low parts of the pasture.
• When  it got closer, the guy could see that it was much bigger than he was.  (The women in the store said he was about 6 feet tall.)
• It wasn't clear whether he perceived it to have a human or ape-like  form; he just said it towered over him and he could just barely make  out its eyes.
• As the   creature kept getting closer, I climbed up as high as I could. The creature   didn't even seem to notice the noise I was making.
• He/she (couldn't tell   which) walked right under me! I was so scared and didn't know what to   do. The thing looked up at me and laid his hands on the tree trunk. I   thought he was about to climb that tree!
• He said he shot at it with his pistol - firing either  two rounds or emptying two clips; the women weren't sure - but the  thing seemed unaffected by the gunshots.
• I quickly aimed my rifle, putting   the center of the cross hairs on his hip/back, and gently squeezed the   trigger.
• I wasn't sure if that meant it stole the dog, it killed the dog.
• What happened to the dog is unclear, too, "it took the dog."
• As the bullet left the gun, the creature grabbed his hip and making   a sound somewhat like a "blow."
• Then it hurriedly ran his exact   tracks back across the pasture and when he got to the other side it ran   down the wood line to a pond and jumped into it.
• The guy called a game warden from the store, and the warden asked if  the two fellows would go back to Rood with an officer to look around,  and the two flatly refused and got back in their car and left.
• "He said it had tore his dog up," according to the Quick Stop witness.
• I watched through the   scope as it swam across the pond and went up the other side. The last   I saw of him was at the bottom of the hill.
• The women  at the store have no idea whether there's any truth to this tale, but  they said the guys did look scared silly. The older one wouldn't get  out of the car, which the campers very carefully had parked under the  brightest lights in the lot and as close to the store entrance as  they could get.
• I told my dad what   had happened and he didn't believe me at first until he remembered hearing   a shot that was close by
• he went to the tree looking for blood (I wouldn't   go) but nothing was found.
• The next morning at the crack of dawn he looked   for signs again, there were footprints.
• I figured with the sage grass   at 4 ½ feet high, and remembering how much of his body was visible   above the grass; we figured he was about 7 feet tall.
• The  women didn't get the men's names and declined to tell me their own,  not wanting to become too closely associated with alleged creature  encounters.
• I must have just   nicked the creature given that I was shaking so bad. I hope he ran to   Mississippi, no one should go through what I went through.
• They said one of the men said he was from Louisiana,  though they were in a car with an Arkansas tag, a Ford Mustang,  the women said.
• If this was an authentic local bigfoot sighting,  it would not be entirely the first.
• There was an account of a fellow out in Russell County who  claimed he knew a place off Old Sandfort Road where you could  go every evening and see a big hairy hominid go by.
• The creature was about   7-feet tall and was slim, built like a swimmer or a marathon runner. His   coat was of a light black but not quite brown color and was dirty looking   and scraggly.
• Dozens of sightings were reported in the 1970s, a popular  era for bigfoot interest. But then reports dropped off until the  summer of 1997, when there was another rash.
• Georgia's Okefenokee Swamp has tales of a creature called the "pig man," also a bigfoot with noticeably pig-like nostrils.
• Reports of this south Georgia pig man can be found on a Web site called the Okefenokee X-Files (www.okefenokee.com/xfiles.htm).
• It cites one creature south of the Okefenokee near Palatka, Florida that's popularly known as "The Bardin Booger" after a small community nearby.

      Gettysburg, PA Area Bigfoot Sightings
• First of all, I would like to thank those readers and listeners who tuned in to the radio show on Sunday night at Beyond the Edge Radio.
• We opened the call-in line and each of us talked about our personal paranormal experiences as well as current alternative news.
• During the show Eric and I commented on separate reports we had both received in the past week that referenced Bigfoot sightings in and around the Gettysburg, PA area.
• I received a correspondence from a man in Indiana who wanted to remain anonymous. It seems he and his family had spent the past week vacationing in Gettysburg and were on their way home on Friday night (6/4) at around 8:30 pm.
• he was driving westbound on US 30 (Lincoln Way-Chambersburg Rd) near the intersection of Rt. 234 (Buchanan Valley Rd) on the central eastern edge of Michaux State Forest...approximately 10 mile west of Gettysburg.
• He noticed that about 40 yards ahead of him a large, tall dark-haired humanoid darted out onto the highway (4 lanes wide) and bound across from north to south into the adjacent woods.
• He states that it seemed to take only 8-10 long strides in order to cover the width of the highway.
• He also states that the beast was carrying an object under it's left arm but couldn't make out what it was.
• He said it looked towards him and he was able to get a look at the face which was lighter in color than the rest of the body.
• It was somewhat different than Bigfoot images he had remembered seeing...the face and chin were distinctively long.
• I referred the witness to several Bigfoot / Sasquatch / primate / early human images and asked him to pick out one that closely matched what he saw.
• The picture is posted below.
• I plan to get a better fix on the location as well attempt to contact local residents in order to find out if others have witnessed the creature.

• PENNSYLVANIA BIGFOOT SIGHTINGS

• For anyone who's ever fled with thudding heart from a shrill nighttime sound or blurred apparition, a recent group of visitors to Michaux State Forest is willing to wager that what's out there is more real than imagined.
• Bigfoot Field Research Organization last week converged on Caledonia State Park to investigate hollows and hillsides of the surrounding state forest, anticipating an encounter with the elusive mystery, Sasquatch.
• The organization, known as BFRO, was founded in 1995 and claims the largest database of credible Bigfoot/Sasquatch sightings throughout the United States and Canada.
• This expedition, BFRO's first in Pennsylvania, was initiated on the strength and number of qualified sightings in Adams and Franklin counties, said BFRO founder, Matt Moneymaker.
• The Waynesboro Reservoir capers, which had caused a stir a few years back, were already a footnote in the "cases closed" file. Those oversized footprints, Moneymaker said, had long been debunked as contrived.
• Talk now centered on a 1997 report from an Adams County hunter who told of seeing three large creatures passing quickly through the woods as he crouched on his tree stand above.
• A dozen or more seekers, some with their own expensive, hi-tech instruments, came equipped for a scientific search. Most came with stories of their own — a never-to-be-forgotten sight or sound that kept them wondering.
• Michael Greene, a retired fraud investigator, owns a thermal imager, which he'd wired to a digital camera worn at his waist, and a night vision scope.
• Greene's eerie backwoods experience had occurred many years earlier.
• "I heard this ungodly loud howl," he said slowly, "unlike anything before. When I heard this same sound later on a recording, my skin went cold. That's how strongly it came back to me."
• "[Bigfoot/Sasquatch] research is in its infancy here [in the eastern U.S.]," he said. "In the east, it never got much attention; it had a folkloric association."
• On the third night of their vigil, the team set up in a large open tract where they had heard promising evidence the night before.
• Breaking into four smaller groups, the team kept in touch by radio. Through the heavy, hand-held thermal imager, one pair at a distant point was seen as two clear white clumps under the gray-white stick images of trees.
• The night was cool and silent, with an occasional barred owl or barking dog raising voice in the distance.
• Mark Maisel scanned the clearing with night vision binoculars, observing the surreal nature of their quest.
• Maisel interviews people who report sightings.
• "I met with a man once who needed a cigarette before he could even talk," he said. "While he was telling me his story, the hair on his arm stood straight up. He was clearly shaken. You can't make up something like that."
• Paul Mateja, who investigates sighting reports in New York, said he became involved with BFRO after reporting four incidents that occurred to him and his family over a 25-year period in upstate New York.
• Not long ago, Mateja said, his wife heard an awful call at 3:30 a.m.
• 
   "The sound was so powerful, it shook the windows of our farm house and woke up the neighbors," he said.
• Encounter
   Before the team members had left their campsite for the last night's search, an uncommitted visitor dropped by to meet Moneymaker.
• Ray Sterner works at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Md., and in his spare time, he makes maps. His copyrighted relief maps are made available through North Star Publications.
• Sterner had become acquainted with Moneymaker after learning that one of his maps was appearing unacknowledged on BFRO's Web site. He called to set them straight.
   
   Since then, Sterner has prepared the relief maps for BFRO.
• At the same time, he's disproved two videos that had been submitted as evidence.
• "I'm a skeptic," said Sterner. "You need a lot of proof."
• Sterner and his wife, who live in Carroll County, Md., hike on occasion in Michaux. When he learned Moneymaker would be here, Sterner sought him out.

• The following are previous humanoid / cryptid encounter reports received by various agencies worldwide:
• ASWANG ATTACK
• Location: Barangay Cabuling, Philippines - September 22, 2004 - evening
• 16-year-old Tata Porras claimed that his 14-year-old brother Michael was attacked by an "aswang", which he claimed was disguised as a big black dog with red glowing eyes.
• Porra's description aptly fit the physical appearance of the supernatural being that has the ability to transform itself into different forms while devouring a prey.
• He claimed that he and his younger brother were sleeping in as mall makeshift hut near their rice field on the above evening, guarding their farm ducks, when the incident occurred.
• The boy's parents were sleeping in their house just a few meters away from the rice field.
• Tata reported that the big black dog was about three feet high and was about to bite the neck of his younger brother when he saw it.
• When he saw the creature he grabbed his single shot rifle and shot at the creature.
• The creature then fled and was lost in the dark.
• Prior to the alleged attack, Tata said he heard a squeaking sound outside the makeshift hut.
• Michael was hit on his right leg when Tata fired the shot at the aswang. He was immediately brought to the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital for medical treatment.

• ASWANG ATTACKS II
• Location: Barangay Lower Manongol, Philippines - May-June 2008
• On a Sunday, three goats owned by Cielo Alonzo were seen dead and disemboweled, in a vacant lot owned by Danny Guerero in Purok 2A, Barangay Lower Manongol, around 2:30 p.m
• Some residents believed the folkloric creature was the attacker, as the internal organs of the domesticated livestock were gone. But police dismissed the story as baseless.
• “Something that is bigger than the dog, or a wolf maybe, or something that has supernatural powers could be behind the killing,” said one man.
• The incident was the second since May, according to Edgar de Jesus, president of Purok 2A.
• In May 2008, a flock of 23 sheep was also killed in the same manner supposedly by the same attacker.
• The animals, owned by a state university, also had “their internal organs feasted on by the ‘killer’,” de Jesus said.
• The purok official also pointed to the ‘aswang’ as the culprit. "After our animals, they might kill our children or those weak individuals. The killing must be stopped," he said.
• Chief Insp. Leo Ajero, city police director, ordered a thorough investigation on the killing. “We will find out who did the killing and make those responsible for it accountable,” he said.
• WHAT IS AN ASWANG?
• The legend of the aswang is well known throughout the Philippines, except in the IIocos region.
• An aswang is a regular townsperson by day and prefer an occupation related to meat, such as butchery.
• They are also said to have an ageless appearance and a quiet, shy and elusive manner.
• The creature is described as a combination of vampire and witch and is almost always female.
• One key feature of the aswang is its bloodshot eyes.
• The aswang is an eater of the dead and a cannibal.
• They are capable of transforming into either a huge black dog or a black boar.
• The creatures stalk and eat human beings at night.
• Many stories revolve around these creatures eating children and unborn fetuses. Their favorite body parts are the liver and heart, and they are known to be viscera suckers.
• Once it has overpowered a victim, it will take a bundle of sticks, talahib grass, and rice or banana stalks, and transform these into a replica of their victim.
• The aswang is believed to have supernatural powers.
• This replica is sent home while it takes the real person back with her. Upon reaching its home, the replica will become sick and die. The victim will then be killed and eaten.
• Supposedly if a person looks at them in the eyes, the reflection would appear inverted.
• During their nocturnal activities, they walk with their feet facing backwards.
• Garlic bulbs, holy water, and other objects are believed to repel aswang.
• At night, they transform into the deadly beast.
• In the Middle Ages, the aswang was the most feared among the mythical creatures in the Philippines.
• It is said that an aswang can be revealed, with the use of a bottle of a special oil made from coconut and mixed with certain plant stems upon which special prayers were said.
• When an aswang comes near or walks outside the house at night, the oil is supposed to boil and continue boiling until the aswang leaves the area.
• In the Southern part of the Philippines the Aswang are classified into five distinctive types:
• 1. The Blood Sucker(Vampire)
   2. The Barangan (Vindictive Hexer...Voodoo and the like)
   3. Mananangal (Self Segmenter) A creature who can fly through the night using only the upper torso with its entrails dangling below.
   4. The Corpse Eater - This is the aswang who will try and change out the real corpse with a fake corpse made from the trunk of a banana tree.
   5. The False Beast - An aswang who has the ability to change from a human into a wild pig, or dog or whatever shape suits it.
• THE STRANGE FIGURE
• Location: Manchester, Indiana - January 24, 2004 - 7:30 pm
• A 17-year old motorist traveling almost 10 miles north of Aurora, Indiana on a Saturday night claims to have encountered an unusual figure on the road.
• While driving his black Chevrolet Cavalier southbound along North Hogan Road a "figure" was spotted in the headlights of the automobile as it was crouched down near a puddle of water.
• From the driver's perspective the figure was spotted out the windshield on the right of the car.
• After passing the frail-looking figure, the driver looked into his rear view mirror and again observed, illuminated by the taillights of his car, what he described as a tall, abnormal figure that moved strangely with pointed joints that "buckled out".
• He estimated the figure stood around 6 feet, seven inches.
• "It had protruding joints and moved very strangely."
• The driver said he was able to ascertain the figure, alleged to be dark gray or black and "pencil thin" stand up and take several steps toward the woods along the roadside.
• The figure definitely walked on two legs and was thought somehow, to be a male, although no clothing was noted.
• No face or eyes could be seen, but the witness had the impression that the figure was looking straight at him.
• The figure was immediately thought to be something out of the ordinary, not a human being. The duration of the sighting was "hurried" and possibly within the 3 to 4 second range.
• The driver continued on for a small distance after passing the figure and finally put on his brakes, coming to a stop at an estimated 2 minute walking distance on the road from the location of the sighting.
• He looked back to further observe the entity. At that point, a second car came into view and approached from the opposite direction, passed and then reached the spot on the road where the figure was thought to be.
• The 17-year old motorist reportedly watched closely and observed the second car undertake what he thought to be an evasive maneuver near the vicinity of where he thought the figure would be situated,
• and then the car turned around at that spot and shortly pulled up behind him, somewhat in the grass.
• There was an elderly couple in the car, both in their late 60s or early 70s and both with gray hair.
• The driver, who wore glasses said, "Boy, did you see something back there? I'll tell you right now, that was no person."
• The passenger, an elderly female said, "It was no human being. It was no man."
• The elderly couple was reportedly "spooked" but offered to follow the first witness the remainder of the trip down North Hogan Road, clearly in the opposite direction of their intended destination route.
• It was thought that the elderly couple observed this same figure on the opposite side of the road, and possibly had observed it more closely.
• Later, the 17-year old witness was said to have become hysterical, and within an hour was describing the figure as an "alien".

• WAS IT MOTHMAN?
• Location: Rootstown, Ohio - Spring 2009 - after midnight
• My friend and I were returning to her home at well past midnight.
• We were traveling down a country road in/near Rootstown, OH when something, it seemed light in color, came across the other lane from a wooded area and wrapped itself around the top left-hand corner of her truck.
• No discernible noise was made, and we didn't even swerve.
• But we both screamed, and then we had chills and the best way for me to describe it is that we felt violated.
• My friend started crying.
• As soon as it came, it was gone. I turned around, and it was gone...just like that.
• It never crossed over the windshield but I swear it touched the left corner.
• Whatever it was kind of wrapped itself around the top/left corner of the truck.
• It seemed lighter in color/not dark...the mothman is the closest answer we can come up with,
• because nothing human could have made it to the top of the Silverado like that and it had a wrapping capability and we must have been driving near 60 mph.

• I was on my way home from Chester WV. with my girlfriend. We were on RT 68 between East Liverpool Ohio and Midland Pa. along the Ohio River.
• The time was around 3 am and a thing that looked like a black angel flew in front of my truck, it was about 6 ft tall and was so close we both ducked.
• What ever it was came from the river side of the road.
• I wanted to go to the Midland Pa. Police but my girlfriend said they would think we were crazy, we often talk about this but that was as far as it went.

• SPOOKED Loch Ness locals are being terrorised by a new monster - a giant cat  that's been savaging farm animals and pets.
• People living on the banks of the famed tourist haunt have urged police to  hunt down the black beast amid fears it could attack and even KILL a  child.
• The big cat has been spotted prowling hillsides and around homes - and is  thought to be behind maulings of at least one dog and a lamb.
• Katrina Wallace, 38, said she is too afraid to let her three young kids  outside at night after hubby Jim glimpsed the animal just outside their home.
• She has taken photos of the body of a badly mauled lamb, which had a large  puncture wound on the back of its neck.
• And one of the family's dogs had to be rushed to the vet after being attacked  in their garden.
• Katrina said: "The top part of its leg was grazed and the vet said it could  only get an injury like that if it had been dragged."
• She also took snaps of mystery pawprints in the snow.
• Katrina added: "A friend of ours who does a lot of shooting and tracks animals  confirmed they are cat prints and a big one at that."
• As fears grew last night Aird and Loch Ness councillor Margaret Davidson said:  "I believe this is a public safety issue.
• "The police need to take this seriously and the animal or animals need to be  captured."
• But a Northern Constabulary spokesman insisted officers had not dismissed the  reports out of hand - and advised the public to report any sightings.
• He said: "Where there is credible information then we'll work with our  Scottish SPCA partners to try and recover it through the use of humane live  traps.
• "Previous attempts, using such equipment, have not resulted in the recovery of  any large cats.
• Wildlife expert Ray Collier believes dangerous beasts are roaming the  countryside after being released from captivity.
• He said: "Legislation changed some years ago saying you had to have a licence  to keep big cats. A lot of people found they were not suitable and released  them.
• "They could survive in the wild. There are vast areas of forest - even  close to Inverness."
• But Mr Collier - who's never seen one of the animals himself - added: "They  wouldn't attack people. They're too scared."
• Last August, Northern  Constabulary warned the public following separate reports of big cats.
• It came after a "large panther-type" animal was spotted near a caravan park at  Dornoch, Sutherland, while another sighting was recorded in Tain, Easter  Ross.
• Last Sunday, The Scottish Sun told how villagers in Strathy, Caithness, feared  sheep had been slaughtered by a similar beast.

• What does the Yowie really look like?
• Just what does a Yowie look like? It is commonly described as 'ape-like', but sports many other attributes according to witnesses.
• Some report the creature has "glowing red eyes" like the picture above, created by Australian artist Sharaya Brooks, and that it moves with supernatural speed.
• Some people believe tales of the Yowie paint the creature as more faerie-like than fierce physical beast.
• Aboriginal lore does support the existence of 'little people’ (of a small, hairy variety) in Australia – the yuuri (pronounced 'yawri’, not unlike Yowie) or 'brown jack’, which fulfil a similar role to that of European elves and leprechauns, guarding certain places, granting favours and playing tricks on people.
• Early colonial encounters describe the creature as "gorilla-like"with black hair, or "half baboon half man".
• The animal regularly startled white settlers, spooked indigenous people and frightened horses and livestock.
• Other descriptions refer to the Yowie as a monster - a "big hairy thing", "man like" and hulking - ranging in size from 4ft-10ft in height - with shaggy, woolly hair.
• "Like a huge man with hair all over it" with an "ugly and hairy" face, according to one witness whose horse was frightened by the creature.

  One thing many witnesses agree on is the smell the creature exudes - like "something dead", rancid, stinking, a "burnt bakelite smell", and like "something electrical".
• "It was like an elephant on two legs wearing size 20 boots," Blue Mountains resident Neil Frost would later describe the ape-like creature he encountered in thick bush near his backyard to local police.
• His neighbour Ian described the monster as "7ft [2m] tall, two of me in build. I weigh 100kg [16st], so we’re looking at a creature at least three times my body mass. It was big.
• It ran sort of like a person, but not quite. There was something odd in its gait... It was a big hairy beastie."
• An article from 1842 reads: "The natives of Australia...believe in...[the]Yahoo...This being they describe as resembling a man...of nearly the same height,...with long white hair hanging down from the head over the features...the arms as extraordinarily long, furnished at the extremities with great talons,
• and the feet turned backwards, so that, on flying from man, the imprint of the foot appears as if the being had travelled in the opposite direction.
• Altogether, they describe it as a hideous monster of an unearthy character and ape-like appearance."
• In an article entitled “Australian Apes” appearing in the 1880s, a Mr. H. J. McCooey, claimed to have seen an "indigenous ape" on the south coast of New South Wales:
• "A few days ago I saw one of these strange creatures…on the coast between Bateman’s Bay and Ulladulla… I should think that if it were standing perfectly upright it would be nearly 5 feet high. 
• "It was tailless and covered with very long black hair, which was of a dirty red or snuff-colour about the throat and breast. Its eyes, which were small and restless, were partly hidden by matted hair that covered its head… I threw a stone at the animal, whereupon it immediately rushed off…”
• Kilcoy claims to be the home of the mythical Yowie, Australia's equivalent of Bigfoot or the Yeti, which is said to live in the hills around Kilcoy.
• There is a large wooden statue of the creature in town (above and below) that looks more man than ape.
• Some local boys saw the creature, which they said was three metres tall and "smelled of sulphur".

• Vietnamese Mystery Beast Attacking Humans and Killing Livestock

• VietNamNet Bridge – Hundreds of households in Binh Dong Commune of Binh Son District in Quang Ngai are living in panic after mysterious footprints were seen on the sand and loud roaring sounds heard in the area
• Mystery beast causing panic in Quang Ngai province
• According to Cao Tan Son, police chief of the Binh Dong Commune, these mysterious incidents have been occurring since May 7 at the foot of Dinh Mountain in Son Tra Commune.
• However, no one has seen the strange creature that could have caused such large footprints measuring almost 12-15cm.
• Over 20 dogs have also been killed in the area and now around 280 households of the commune are living in panic.
• Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, a 70-year-old woman was the first to find her dead pet dog on the night of May 7. She said that her dog was found without its head and some body organs.
• On the same night, four dogs were also found dead in the same manner, approximately 15-20 kilograms from Ngoc’s neighborhood.
• Many households living near the Dinh Mountain said they had heard very loud roaring sounds.
• In related news, in the border districts of Si Ma Cai and Muong Khuong in the northwestern province of Lao Cai, people have repeatedly seen strange species of dog like animals.
• The strange creatures have bitten about 15 people in Ban Me, Thao Chu Phin, Quang Than San and Si Ma Cai communes in the two districts.
• According to local residents, the strange doglike creatures have slender, long bodies, slanting red eyes and their fur coat is marked with white spots, black and white spots or yellow stripes.
• They are seen wandering in the villages trying to prey on housedogs or attacking other domestic bred animals like chickens, pigs, goats and horses. They attack any person who tries to drive them away.

• Owensboro   - Aug. 1978
• Residents of the 2800 block of Fairview Drive   reported that they had witnessed a huge dark colored BF creature on several   occasions observing them from the safety of the nearby woods. It was 8 to 10   ft.tall, they claimed, and 4 to 5 ft. wide at the shoulders. It usually appeared   in the evening hours and was said to smell like 'decomposing bodies'. Tracks   were found which measured 14 to 16 inches long and 6 to 7 inches wide. Evidently   the authorities were unable to help so a posse formed to rid the newly developing   neighborhood of the giant, smelly menace. They reportedly fired on the creature   with .45 calibre rifles to no apparent effect. It ran away leaving no blood   trail,just a peculiar wet spot on the ground where it had stood. • OBSERVED: I was traveling home from work in Gallup to Bluewater, South Side. The time was about 8 p.m.
• As I was traveling on hiway 612, right when I was exiting the sharp curves, I noticed a figure moving by the road on the right side.
• I thought it was a very tall person at first but when I looked I noticed that it wasn't human.
• As I got closer it started to cross the road and almost hit my truck.
• It stopped and I did not want to stop because the road was ice packed and I didn't want to get stuck or run off the road.
• I seen the creature a few feet thru my trucks passenger front window.
• The creature's face looked ape and humanistic.
• He was probably 7 feet tall because when he got real close to the vehicle I couldn't see his face. He stood way over the truck.
• I was overwhelmed with fear at this point and just kept going home.
• OTHER WITNESSES: I was the only person to see this.
• TIME AND CONDITIONS: It was dark outside and happened about 8 oclock at night. It was snowing.
• ENVIRONMENT: National forest.

  Witness was interviewed by phone on April 14, 2011.
• At the time of the incident there was approximately two to three inches of snow on the road and it was snowing lightly.
• As the witness rounded a right-hand corner, he noticed an individual walking south along the right shoulder of the highway, approximately 100 yards ahead. His initial thought was to give this “person” a ride and he was trying to figure out how he could get going again since his truck is two-wheel drive and the road climbs steadily at this point.
• Slowing down as he approached the subject, he was struck with the enormous size as well as the fact that this was unlike anything he had ever seen.
• The creature turned to its left when the witness was almost to it, giving him a clear view of it in the headlights.
• Details of the creature:
  
  • Seven to eight feet tall, at least 400 pounds.
  • Covered in long “mop like”, brown hair over the body with shorter, grayish (possibly due to snow) hair on the head.
  • Long arms which swung as it walked.
  • Huge legs.
  • Massive chest and shoulders.
  • Dark eyes.
  • Gray/brown skin on the face, with not much facial hair. Pronounced brow ridge.
• • Looked like an “old man” or “old warrior” with an angry expression.
• • Did not notice the hands or feet.
  
• The creature looked directly at the witness as he neared.
• Passing within five feet, the witness could see the creature’s chest through the passenger window of his truck.
• As stated in the report, he was very scared at this point and was worried about spinning out on the slick road.
• He did not see where the creature went after driving past it.
• The witness and his wife returned to the location the following morning to look for footprints.
• Since the snow was already melted they were unable to locate any.
• However, there was a loud crashing noise in the trees on a hillside to the east of their location that he believes could have been caused by a large rock being thrown. At this point he decided it was best to leave the area.
• Driving this route daily for the past two years, the witness is very familiar with the typical wildlife present in the area, which includes a large number of deer and elk.
• He had noticed in the months preceding his encounter that these animals were not to be seen.
