Tretford has a unique structural hard-edged construction and is dimensionally stable – this means Tretford will not fray or unravel at the edges and eliminates the need for conventional binding.
The dimensional stability also gives you the flexibility to cut Tretford to any shape, giving you endless possibilities for custom designs

The fitout was completed in early May. The design includes breakout areas for entertainment, extensive iconic furniture pieces and lighting, open plan offices with flexible workstation systems and the integration of digital technology installations to replace conventional office logistics. The lively texture and vibrant colour of the Desso Lita carpet tiles enabled the playful pixellated cloud and sky design on the floors.
Designed by Woods Bagot, the new student space at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is a direct reflection of a next generation learning environment.
The student areas in Blocks A and B at the Haymarket Campus have provided a more fluid and flexible social environment with informal learning spaces ideal for group collaboration.
To understand and ensure the space reflect exactly what the students wanted, in-depth interviews were undertaken with vast numbers of undergraduates.
“As a small independent school, we continuously have to perform above the level of the average. The challenge is to do that both in terms of education and in terms of appearance. Appearance plays a significant role among our target group. Things have to look good, because that’s what makes them feel at home” says headmaster René van der Theil.
"This new building is an engaging learning environment for the students of St Mary’s. The sustainable solutions within the fit-out have provided a fresh, light environment which will contribute to the well being of students and staff. Completed 2010."
This 4,000 sq. m. development is a state-of-the-art facility incorporating the most advanced intelligence of childhood learning and education. An environment where the interior learning “studios” flow out into landscaped gardens encouraging children to create their own learning experience working in groups and teams where teachers are guides rather than instructors. The environment is sensory rich and reliant on advanced technology to keep students connected to external resources.
Creating the interior design for a learning environment is a complex task. The influencing powers of interiors truly come into their own when challenged with the task of creating a space that is both calming and stimulating, while allowing for the multi-functioning needs of the modern student.
This means particular consideration must be given to functional zoning (quiet spaces for individual learning, ‘louder’ spaces for collaborative tasks) with color, texture choices and lighting.
"BT Investment Management’s (BTIM) workplace reflects understated quality, attention to detail and embodies a sense of inclusion. Flooded with natural light, the space has a robust honesty that is injected with accents of ingenuity.
The cultural objective was to improve connectivity and communications through finding reasons and places for people to come together. Shared spaces were consolidated to ensure individuals would frequent these areas and potentially bump into others in the broader community."
"The successful interaction of sales, technical and social zones allow clients and staff to create the environment best suited to their needs while controlled daylight and access to district view.
Through an intensive workshop process, Gray Puksand was able to assist the client group and the construction management team to realise the most efficient function brief as well as developing an exciting aspirational brief."
TABCOPRP has recently embarked on a significant enhancement program that will deliver over 130 refurbished stores over the next two years. Key to the new retail strategy is the refurbished retail outlets which reposition the TAB brand and provide a first-class entertainment experience for all customers.
When planning the interior design of a space, the last thing on many a designer or client’s mind is ‘will this space make me sick?’ Naturally we get so very caught up in the functional and perhaps more regularly, the aesthetics of these spaces that we fail to see the bigger picture. However, now with the prevalence of Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) as a strong sector facet, ‘healthy’ spaces are taking priority.
This is currently none more relevant at a time when Asthma Australia is launching National Asthma week. The weeklong asthma awareness campaign focuses on educating the general populous on the real risk that asthma still holds for sufferers, and its impact on a community level.
Desso’s award winning new product ‘Visions of’ is a new reverse tuft design concept in three stimulating designs that offers a progressive emerging design as one walks over the carpet.
The ‘red dot’ is a quality seal for aesthetic forms and lasting trends, handed out each year during one of the most renowned design contests in the world.
This year, 1,800 manufacturers and designers from 58 countries participated in the contest. A jury consisting of 30 international experts tested and evaluated a total of 4,515 products in Essen, Germany. Desso’s ‘Visions of’ has an elaborate and innovative product design, according to this year’s jury.
This weekend house is located on heavily ti-treed sand hills adjacent the ocean beach in Rye. Its spiral configuration is a spatial device which responds to the difficult topography, it is also a figure rich in coastal allusions.
By passing the spiral back through itself the house has become the mathematical concept of the Klein Bottle.
The SEDNA Hospital is based on four principles that give it its name: Service, Excellence, Development, Naturality, Apreciation. The hospital is targeted to preventive medicine that can be cured in due time and care.
Desso was able to participate in the creation of the new building “Torre 2” that has offices, hiperbaric medicine, plastic surgery clinic and services. The selected product was DESSO AirMaster® due to the improvement of the interior air quality of the different areas, its complicance to Hospital Maintenance regulation and a range of colors that contributed to interior design that enhances the corporate image.
