Wether you want to actually enter the competitions or just get ideas for the classroom these competitions sites are great resources.

The Kids Design Challenge features details for four real-life design tasks that are of importance to the community. The site also has a page where you can ask questions to certain types of experts and a page showcasing previous entries. This resource is great for any teacher wanting a real-life design task with community importance.

This is the site for Robo Cup Junior Australia. This is a competition for students which allows them to enter at their own level and interests and compete against others using robotics. It also has dates for professional development programs.

This technology challenge is held in Maryborough once a year in September and has seven different events aimed at different levels. This site has all the information that students, parents and teachers need to know regarding the event, from accommodation to rules. This would make a great camp for students.

This website provides the details for a technology competition offering work experience and prizes. It is open for primary and secondary students, however not in our area. Despite this a good site for teachers to gain technology competition ideas.

While this challenge is only available for those students in the US and Canada it provides a fantastic idea for a challenge for a classroom or school. The brainstorming, engineering design, fundraising and research and development pages also provide great step by step processes and ideas.
